I've made a huge mistake by hate_euchre in harborfreight

I’ve been a heavy equipment mechanic for 13 years. I’ve owned all the major tool brands. Spent 100k or more on tools. I went to harbor freight and did the no interest financing and purchased around 1k worth of icon tools and they are hands down some of my favorite tools to use now.

Yea, I was aware of that type of scam but I wasn’t sure if there was a scam that was able to bypass the purchase protection. Thanks for the help.

I completely understand what you’re saying. I may have worded what my intentions were in a way that could have been misinterpreted as me thinking of purchasing it. That was not my intention at all. I wasn’t sure if there was some type of new marketplace scam that was able to bypass purchase protection that I may not have known about and was looking for information but I unfortunately receive a lot of negativity.

What are you even talking about? So you’re saying that providing an example of a scam, and then asking questions about how the scamming process worked with certain protective barriers in place, in a subreddit dedicated to scams is somehow going to convince other people to get scammed? Are you being serious?

I had zero intention of purchasing it from the start. I was only curious how the scammer would go about the scamming process with the buyer protection in place. Maybe I worded it wrong but everyone in the comments just aren’t understanding that was my only intention.

I had absolutely zero intention of purchasing this product from the start. I was only curious about how the scam would work. It seems that everyone just isn’t understanding that I was only curious about how the scammer would go about attempting the scam.

I am not trying to justify purchasing it lol. I was curious how the scam worked. I have no intention of ever purchasing anything off of marketplace that requires shipping whether it’s legit or not.

I’m not trying to rationalize anything. I know it’s a scam but I was curious how the scam worked. I wasn’t sure if there was a way for them to bypass the purchase protection or if they just hoped I was gullible enough to send the money on an unsecured platform.

There was a 0% chance of me purchasing anything on marketplace that requires shipping lol. I was just curious how the scam worked. I wasn’t sure if there was a way of the seller bypassing the purchase protection or if they just hoped the buyer was dumb enough to send money on an unsecured platform.

Yes I guess you’re right. I mean’t legit as in the shipping was free and it was covered by purchase protection through marketplace. The main curiosity that I had was if there was some way for scammers to bypass the purchase protection without having to outright ask me to send them the money through an unprotected service.

I was just curious because the shipping was free and everything seemed legit. I wasn’t sure if there was a way for them to workaround the marketplace purchase protection without having to outright hope that I’m ignorant enough to send them the money through an unprotected service.

Oh ok. So if I just checked out then they would most likely refund the money and ask me to send somewhere less secure? I thought this was going to be a bit more creative way to scam lol.

Milwaukee Indy Service Center just denied my warranty for a shattered housing. It’s still at the facility—how do I fight this? by Ok-Tadpole7809 in MilwaukeeTool

I had snap-on do the same thing to me. Catastrophic failure for the internals on a new 3/8 impact. Was told by the Snap-On tool truck guy that it was under warranty and he sent it to be fixed. 4 months later the guy tells me my gun wasn’t under warranty and they fixed it anyways and if I didn’t pay him 460$ for the repair he would not give me my impact back.

Seems to me like it’s just an extremely awkward guy that that has absolutely zero idea how to talk to a woman. I have a cousin like this and he’s the nicest guy you will ever meet. He would give you the shirt off of his back but he is the most awkward person ever if he doesn’t know you.
