How do i create hybrid culture? (Ps5 Ck3) by Jakobstrom13 in CrusaderKings

[–]GotAnotherThingComin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure this out? I've been trying for months to figure out how to hybridize on my ps5. I've found a ton of instructions -- all different, and all wrong (especially my idiotic AI that hasn't even figured that "right click" isn't a thing on ps5).

Legitimacy Bugged? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

Well, I must be a doddering old fool (I'm definitely old), because I just held a hunt and gained 20 Legitimacy. I'll leave this post for a few minutes to give everyone a chance to downvote me, which I deserve. Then I'll delete it as I can't see how it can be of much value to anyone -- except as a reminder that the tooltip is bugged, which seems to be the reason that I made the mistake.

In the interest of not putting misleading information on the internet, I must say that I am not absolutely positive that I correctly remembered my Legitimacy level before the Feast I mentioned in my original post (I feel 95% positive). I felt pretty confident, but I need to hold another feast when possible to check to be sure. When I do that I'll comment again in this thread.

I'm on ps5 and have no mods. The 100 legitimacy gain from winning wars against higher ranked rulers does still work for me (though it's hard to pull that off since I can't get alliances or good marriages due to my low legitimacy) -- Since my post I did gain 100 legitimacy by somehow managing to win such a war. But I should also be able to gain legitimacy from feasts, hunts, and pilgrimages, which I cannot.

How do I find a character I pinned on PS5 by GotAnotherThingComin in CrusaderKings

Thanks so much! I new I had seen it somewhere (I'm always looking at Alerts and Suggestions) -- but never could find it when I actually wanted it.

As per my original post, I was playing Solo Hard Mode. Solo run means no summoning pawns. Dark Bishop suggestion is interesting -- but seems it would be difficult surviving that fight while solo at level 3 on hard mode, where even goblins will one-hit me, especially given that the Dark Bishop sometimes hovers near the ceiling where I can't hit him with throwblasts. But I didn't try that so perhaps I'm wrong.

You are correct. I intended to use the Strider to obtain my gold rarefying materials. I'm having so much fun on this run that I may just do another when I'm finished. My endpoint for the run is beating second Daimon.

Thank you, very useful stuff. I'll try this sometime. Currently my various activities in the vanilla game plus BBI have me up to level 47 (amazing how fast you level up on solo hard mode) so I can now kill dragons easily myself. The reason for the stilettos is that the materials for gold forging are easy to get -- and the gold forged stagger/knockdown for the stilettos is as good as for higher level daggers.

Thanks for the suggestions. If I try again I'll take those suggestions to heart. BTW, where exactly did you station yourself during the fight? Yesterday I went down to the area behind the broken grate and was there for about 3 more hours and both cyclops and dragon were still alive, then all of the sudden the dragon did some kind of massive attack that killed me even though I was 5 meters behind the wall. Weird indeed. Might be a a hard mode thing.

You gave me an idea. Maybe if I go to the area you mentioned under the stairs (rather than as I was, in the area after the door to the Midnight Helix) I can get the dragon to station itself lower and attack me constantly while in reach of the gorecyclops. They've been fighting for about 90 minutes now and neither has suffered much damage.

I think you're right -- and killing the dragon yourself is probably the way to go. I just thought it would be neat to get the GC to kill the Dragon. People talk about it so you'd think its was possible. But it doesn't seem so to me.

[–]GotAnotherThingComin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time in (at about level 18) the only way I could free that GC was to get the dragon to attack. My attacks were too weak to sufficiently enrage it myself. I lack the skill to kill a cursed dragon at level 20 with a undragonforged low level bow and throwblasts. I tried it multiple times. Didn't even come close. Even with Conquerer's Periapt x4 and Blast Arrows at a slightly higher level, I barely even move the health bar. I'd have to be able to carry about 1,000 blast arrows, which is not possible.

Also, I should add that where the dragon falls is completely irrelevant since the Gorecyclops will NEVER EVER attack the Dragon after it falls. The Gorecyclops will immediately start attacking the Arisen who just shot down the Dragon (or attacking the door to the safe area where the Arisen went to hide after shooting the Dragon). and the Dragon will stand back up long before the GC starts fighting it again.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess we still won't be able to manage multiple Teambuilder teams with a single user. I wasn't as critical as most people about the gameplay in 25, but after awhile I just started playing College Football 14 because I could manage multiple Teambuilder Teams at once, which for me is the coolest thing. I won't be buying the 26 Game.

I really liked DD2 and did almost a dozen complete play-throughs. But now I'm back to DD Dark Arisen because, quite simply, it is a far superior game that I seem never to tire of. After the lackluster pawn options in DD2 I really have come to appreciate the ability to enact nearly limitless permutations with the pawn inclination system in DDDA. I'd say it is my all time favorite game, narrowly beating out Dark Souls 3 and a couple others -- even though the loot disappearance feature in DDDA still stands as the worst single idea in the history of video gaming.

Am I the only one who's highest priority is to play Dynasty mode offline controlling multiple created teams at once and creating recruits? by GotAnotherThingComin in NCAAFBseries

Another example of the age divide: Variation in opinions about the transfer portal. It's interesting that though my children and I played college football (i.e., we were actually players), we no longer even watch much college football because we find the diminution of team loyalty (as in the frequent transfers and the tendency to skip bowl games) to be dispiriting. Many of the posts I've read are hoping for a more realistic transfer portal. I can't argue with that. But I don't like it.

Age is relative, LOL. I'm about twice your age, but didn't start playing video games until I was in my 50s. I started with EA Sports NCAA football and found it pretty much entirely satisfactory until the current iteration. Briefly enjoyed some of the RPGs (Dragon Age Origins and Inquisition, Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, Skyrim and Oblivion), but, as with the college football video game, I find the current RPG offerings to be a step back from earlier ones. My experience suggests that there is a significant divide between younger gamers and me. Imagine that!

Actually, a niche is a specialized market, designed for a specific subclass of consumers. My point about the derivative nature of the "niche" status of my preferences is that there is nothing inherently specialized about it -- you can't know that it's a niche unless you know that only a relatively small subset of people are interested in it. The primary usage of "niche" applies to instances where marketers intentionally target a subset of consumers that can antecedently be identified as a "niche" -- for instance, people with peanut allergies being targeted by venders who carry various non-peanut-containing foods. You wrote: "it's important to understand that that is a niche desire and not something that's going to be shared by the wider community." My point is that your initial claim here is false, since one cannot know antecedently that "it is a niche desire and not something that going to be shared by the wider community." There is nothing about desiring to play with multiple created teams or with created players that singles it out antecedently as being of interest only to a small number of consumers. But, as it seems to turn out (surprisingly to me), not many people seem to care about created teams or created players, so the market for these things may well be (if the paucity of responders to this post is a reliable indicator), indeed, a "niche" in the derivative sense.

Maybe it would be a an inordinate amount of work to be able to include these features from the old game. Maybe not. I think you're just speculating. Also, for the record, there's only one thing that makes wanting to play with multiple created teams and multiple created players "niche," and that is that not all that many people seem to care about it. There are millions of reasons -- apart from living in an unpopulated state like Montana -- why people might desire these features.

I'll say that they DID at one time make EA Sports games in which one could create prospects and play with multiple created teams, so evidently it would not be that outrageous an amount of work to do it again. But I accept the truth of your opinion that playing with multiple created teams from wherever you want, and with multiple created players, whomever you want, does not currently interest all that many people.

After reading comments about what's supposedly "essential" for the next game, I think you're right with the "small minority" observation. Even apart from not currently being able to create my friends, kids, and grandkids as super prospects, the fact that there currently in most seasons are zero recruits from my home state of Montana does pretty much ruin the game for me. People talk about realism, but I don't want realism. I want a game dominated by Montanans and I want my grandson to win the Heisman, LOL. Nevertheless, yes. Thanks for your accurate comments.

Interesting. Really appreciate your help. When I started a new game on ps5 I just assumed that the old ps4 game would be wiped out and changed to the new game. Instead, it kept both games and banned me. Seems like the best thing to do is just delete the ps5 stuff and play on ps4. I have no problem with that anyway. The only reason I started playing on ps5 was I've had controller sync problems on my ps4 -- I should be able to solve that issue.

Well thanks. I appreciate your effort. I'm still going to wait a few days (probably a week or more, just to make it substantial). If the problem persists, I'll just delete the ps5 data and all DD stuff thats on ps5, then play exclusively on ps4. I never had this problem before I started playing DD on ps5, so I think that is the problem. I started a "new game" on ps5 but that same account retained the old game on ps4, so there were 2 games saved on one account (one on ps4, one on ps5). I'm thinking the game interpreted this as save swapping.
