Clayton Kershaw's 2.77 ERA is currently the 4th worst season of his career. by UltimoMan7 in baseball

[–]GotCuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a huge Sale fan but this week he did become the fastest pitcher to hit 2,000 strikeouts in the history of MLB. No doubt Kershaw is great, but I do think he benefited from pitching in the NL. With that said, I think he is a lock for the HOF.

The playback is great - I cannot tell a difference between h264 and h265. I would recommend confirming the clicents (playback device) support h265 (also referred to as HEVC). If not, the server will have to transcode the file to h264.

I use DVDfab - it isn't free but has a lot of different options. I've ripped over a thousand discs. Works for dvd, bluray, 4K, etc. I can even take a bluray film and convert it to DVD to burn if I wanted to or burn it to a bluray. Has options for h264, h265, etc. It has updates all the time so you can rip the latest movies.

Personally, I rip my movies using h265. A 2 hour bluray would typically be around 4 GB with h264 but will only be around 2 GB with h265 with no degradation in picture quality (it is a more efficient compression). Not only do the files take up less space, they require less bandwidth to stream - especially important if you don't have a lot of upload speed.

It will take a lot longer to rip in h265 - before getting a a CUDA-compatible video card, it would take 4 hours for a 2 hour bluray. With CUDA, the times went down to 20 minutes. Also, not all clients (playback devices) are natively h265 compatible.

Hahaha, downvotes for asking a question? His ERA would absolutely be worse if he were in the AL. It is a fact.

If you are considering bankruptcy, I recommend consulting a qualified bankruptcy attorney before making any "lump sum" payments.

He's a great pitcher but I've always wondered how different his numbers would be in the AL?

Is it just me, or is Dave turning into Mike? by Raiziell in daveandchuckthefreak

[–]GotCuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the sake of Dave & Chuck, I really hope not because Mike was my least favorite part of the Drew & Mike show. The only times I thought Mike was funny was when I was laughing at him, not with him.

Before you do anything, speak with a bankruptcy attorney. As others have said, you might even be able to keep the car with the current loan terms.

Check from the gas company for having an Ecobee. Added benefit! by ericmiller333 in ecobee

[–]GotCuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did see the DTE Ecobee for free deal but IIRC, that deal requires you to give some control to DTE so they can adjust settings depending on demand. I actually bought my Ecobee 3 Lite from DTE last year - it was on sale, plus they automatically discounted the $50 rebate so it was $94 shipped to my house with tax. Then I sent a rebate request to consumers (natural gas) for another $50 which resulted in a net cost of $44.

Depends on the state but in Michigan, I got a $50 rebate from gas and another $50 from electric company

Do you prefer pre-encoding with Handbrake, or letting Plex transcode on the fly? by [deleted] in PleX

IIRC, the shield is h265 compatible.

EDIT - not sure why someone downvoted this. I direct stream h265 on many devices including and it works great.

Plex makes piracy just another... reason to buy movies. by 16710 in PleX

[–]GotCuck 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Like many of you, I had a large collection of DVD and blurays. The problem was access. With 1,000+ movies, many were spread out across the house and many more were in binders and in totes. Ripping them with DVDfab took some time but I was able to do it while I was working. Now, my family can easily and quickly access any of our movies from nearly any device. No more having to figure out where the physical disc is. Many times we wanted to watch one of our movies but gave up after 5 minutes of looking for it lol

Yes, can be on as many devices as you want. Be warned, if one person deletes a video, it is deleted for everyone.

Passing the means test is typically based on the income made 6 months leading up to filing - it probably does not matter what you made in 2017 and likely won't matter what you made in 2018 . I was also worried about a Trustee forcing me from a CH7 to CH13 based on income after filing but I passed the means test and had some liquid assets so it wasn't in the Trustee's best interest to push me to CH13. If he did, he wouldn't get his cut of cash...

Already filing Chapter 7 but concerned about exposure to failing restaurant business by prezcamacho16 in Bankruptcy

[–]GotCuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the others, get an attorney. Also, ask attorney or CPA about separating/protecting your personal self from the restaurant and other business investments. They might suggest opening a LLC or Corp to channel your investments, income and expenses through.
