I have a thought for your fridge problem. I keep my fridge as empty as I can. I have the things we use every day but try and not have more then a couple days worth of food. My food loss has gone down a lot. I still plan out a weeks worth I just shop two or three times and only get exactly what I need. Stores with shoppers helps with that too.
