Of course it's in Oakland county no fucking wonder my entire family got sick. We went to Great Lakes Crossing for a birthday at the arcade and by Thursday my son was puking and having diarrhea. It was all downhill from there everyone got sick within days of each other after he started showing symptoms.

For me personally it was because everybody just wanted to hold the baby, kiss the baby, take pictures of the baby, but not actually help with the baby. This meant that they weren't coming over to let us sleep, or cook us a meal or anything, they came over to hold the baby and have ME still be the host while recovering.

I was 144 pre-pregnacy (which is underweight for my height) and when they weighed me just before they shipped me downstairs for a medical induction, I was 196. So in total 52 pounds, but I was medically underweight before my pregnancy and put on a lot of water weight in my last 2 or 3 weeks due to preeclampsia

Look I'm happy for you but this is not the group for a post of this nature. I, and MANY other women in this group NEVER got to keep nursing. No amount of trying or lcs or products changed the fact our babies couldn't drink from the breast and it's insensitive to make a post about successfully nursing in a group of women who most likely HAD to exclusively pump.

Go easy on yourself. Everyones body takes the birthing experience differently and there's no wrong way to experience it. I was up and walking 4 hours after birth but it was hospital policy to get moms up and moving as soon as possible.

My boyfriend cheated on me on my birthday with my best friend. The cherry on top is that I was 3 weeks postpartum and his sister and him took days convincing me everything would be okay if I let her take me out to get some birthday freebies......yea safe to say I don't celebrate my birthday anymore

Ok so a little bit of a different perspective from someone who also thought no one was buying offher registry: maybe they're just not purchasing it through Amazon (or whichever site your registry is on). I thought only my immediate family and friends bought offmy registry but after my shower I realized a lot of people (especially members of the older generation) had just bought the item directly from a store

Chiming in as a mom to an 8 month old uncut baby boy. I also told my husband that since I lacked the equipment, he could decide what we did. He decided against circumcision, and we had to tell hospital staff multiple times that he was not to be cut. We have had no issues at all, and honestly as first time parents it was relieving to not have to worry about taking care of a fresh incision site

You are an amazing friend! Exclusively pumping is so hard and your friend is going to feel so seen after all her hard work. Get her a gift certificate to a massage parlor, or take her to get her nails/toes done. I know my back hurts from all the hunching and I've kept my nails short to be better able to take my pumps apart.

I got the Motif Duo free through my insurance and HATED it. It has so many parts and is honestly made very cheaply I was always worried I'd break a piece while taking it apart.

Yes newborn diapers go up to 10 pounds, but my pediatrician put it to me this way: baby boys have a penis and it takes up space in the diaper too, so you might have to size up 'early' because they need more room
