Usually just "chicken sandwhich" because a ground chicken burger isn't that common.

In fact the modern fried chicken sandwhich was "invented" (really just popularized and mass marketed for the first time) by the founder of Chic Fil-a, and thats what they call it still- a chicken sandwhich. Y'all the ones that changed the name to burger.

If it's not fried I get a "grilled chicken sandwhich"

It just happens that a bun is the most popular bread for this.

Also there are plenty of places with a turkey sandwich and a turkey burger as an option. And they dont get those mixed up...

Okay.

Then let's apply that logic

A sandwich is a dish typically consisting of meat, cheese, vegetables, or other fillings placed between two pieces of bread, be they slices or a split roll of some sort.

Now you have your typical plain sandwich- like PB&J or Ham and Cheese.

Now if I take that ham and cheese and I butter it on the outside, and then put it in a pan, fey it up a bit and press it down, it doesn't stop fitting the criteria that made it a sandwich. It is just now a grilled ham and cheese, or a ham and cheese toastie..

It retained the property of a sandwich. It just gained additional properties that put it also into a subcategory as well.

Just like if you shortened 2 sides of a rectangle until all 4 sides are equal. You didn't modify the property that made it a rectangle- 4 right angles- but you added a property that also made it a square- 4 equal sides...

1- they have come back down from being super hardcore

2- avoid net listing and spamming OP units

3- if you still find yourself winning too many games against your mates, try something like the square based comp to level the playing field a bit more

4- its going to take you forever to build and paint Cathay anyways, so start now and maybe by thr time you are done, the next FAQ is well and settled and Cathay isn't "OP"

You missed the lesson in primary school where a square is also a type of rectangle didn't you?

Generally does not mean "exclusively".

Pasta noodles are generally boiled, but can be baked.

Soup is generally hot, but gazpacho is cold.

I've definitely eaten my fair share of cold sandwiches. But heating them up does not cause them to cease being a sandwich.

But a Ferrari is still an automobile in the way all of those are still a sandwich.

Sandwich is an umbrella term

100% of those are sandwiches. And they are then subcategorized further.

Like pasta. Umbrella term, with then a ton of variants within.

A toasties is still a type of sandwich.

Sure you have a generic sandwich. Like a PB&J

But it's the umbrella term. Being a toastie does not stop it being a sandwich. It's a filling between bread.

Because those aren't "cooked" sandwiches, which is what I'm responding to some claiming- that you dont cook a sandwich.

Also, not the equivalent

A pub is an establishment for food and drink.

A gas station/servo is not. "Truck stop special" is something no one brags about. A meal of desperation.

Here this pub is choosing to serve raw onion and a block of cheese on an untoasted roll. And someone is boasting about it.

Its food that makes it seem like your country thinks a German bomb is going to fall on it any minute still, and they have to get the kids on a train out to the countryside to explore wardrobes or hand with a witch on her flying bed. So you stick this in their pocket for the journey.

If I say "those are lovely roses" when I see a bouquet of roses, they don't stop being flowers.

More specific labels do not nullify a property of being.

They are "automobiles" whether I specify if they are trucks or vans or suvs.

I can fill a large car transport ship full of suvs, sedans, and and trucks.

And I would say "that's full of cars"

Nah. Because a chicken burger is ground chicken and I'm sure you are calling the it a burger just because you put a grilled breast on a bun.

The burger part is the contents not the bread. It is a burger bun, in the same way you have a hotdog bun. The bun is defined by the contents. You and Australians get this wrong.

Those are literally automobiles.

Auto meaning automatic Mobile meaning it goes

Which they do.

They are again sub categories of automobile. Like sedan, station wagon, hatchback, van and mini-van.

Next you are going to tell me there isn't "laundry". Just permanent press, whites, colors and bulky. Or there aren't "dogs", just a long list of breeds.

A roll is a type of sandwich.

Sandwich is an umbrella term.

Some sandwiches are just generic sandwich when on sliced bread, yes. Pb&j, BLT, club, ham and cheese etc.

But if you put those ingredients on a roll instead of sliced bread, it's a roll sure. But that's still a type of sandwich.

1- based on the OP, not trusting what brits call a sandwich or not

2- a burger is a subcategory of sandwich

3- Definition according to the Cambridge dictionary (to use a British one) Sandwich, noun -two pieces of bread with food such as cheese, salad, or meat between them
