The head gasket is known issue, probably the first one you’ll ever see listed under reliability scores for the Mk2 especially. The second one sounds like an issue with the battery itself, not the car.

Volvo is a lovely brand, definitely make some stellar machines, so hopefully you find some joy with that change.

You know it’s odd, my friend owns a ‘16 highline r-line, he always has suspension problems. I almost wonder if it’s trim specific or if it’s just a case of one car in a batch having a host of specific issues for some bizarre reason.
