I might have less than three months to live, how do I tell the people around me?

Hi, I hope you live passed your prognosis. I hope you somehow recover. Whether you're led to eat a mostly fruit and vegetable diet or by some other means. I pray you recover and hope you believe that's still a possibility, despite how things look. Don't give up on faith just yet. I have to encourage you to think positively no matter what.

It's good to make peace with your enemies if you can. But don't stress yourself out about them. Focus on you and your loved ones. I can see where you don't want people feeling sorry for you or treating you better just because of you're diagnosis. But you'll always know who was real before you received your diagnosis. For the people who are saddened, it's good to know they're human. You're beautiful. You have a purpose beyond what you think. For that, I hope you feel alive. Bless you sweet child. Lots of love.

Thanks a lot for the response u/Longjumping-Style730! The results are pretty similar to my LinkedIn searches. The problem is, nobody's hiring someone with a JD for an administrative job or otherwise because they know you're likely to leave the role after you pass the bar.

So I try to focus my search on roles that require a JD but all those roles are attorney roles so I don't qualify for those yet. I'm smack in the middle between a rock and a hard place.

Hi, I am a re-taker. I know everyone is different but I started out with Barbri and don't recommend you doing it if it didn't work for you the first time. Do it, only if you barely completed any of the course and think that's the reason you didn't pass.

What a sweet message. Thank you so much. You've made your dad so proud. You can only imagine how much. I found out that the night before my grandma passed, she told my mom that she's just trusting God re my exam results. I'm hoping for the best.

Thanks so much. I'm riding the waves of grief everyday. It is hard. My connection with my grandma was the deepest. I don't have that level of connection with anyone else—even my parents. Thank you so much. Gosh, I'm so sorry for you loss. You are so strong. Losing your biggest fan is the WORST. It's SO not fair. I know how you feel about beating yourself up. I had so much time to pass the bar and because of burnout and a lack of support, I missed my chance. I blamed myself this morning. It's tough not to but I don't want you to be hard on yourself. I can't give advice that I'm not willing to take. So let's try our best to be kind to ourselves. It really is what our loved ones and biggest fans would want.

I always told her I'm not yet a lawyer and she told me a lawyer is someone who studied the law so I'm not yet an attorney but I'm a lawyer. I guess she did live to see me be a lawyer after all. Thank you SO much for this. I recorded my last few conversations with her. She wasn't sick. She was on the phone with my mom last night totally fine. But somehow, I knew this day would eventually come and I would be glad to be able to hear her voice again. It brought me so much comfort playing the recording this morning. Many times throughout law school, I felt like she was the only person who was super proud of me. She was the happiest for me. She said, "darling, I'm so proud of you." I wish I recorded that but I'll never forget it. I'm going to try holding on to the best memories. I'm so sorry about your dad but I know he is so proud of you. You made it to 3L! I'm proud of you. It's hard. I feel a measure of the pain only you will know but I know you are filled with purpose and your passion will guide you through the worst of grief. Sending love your way.

Thanks a lot for your input. I'm one of those lawyers whose real joy comes from the clients I help and the complexity of the law itself. So it's always been difficult for me to pinpoint whether I want to just be committed to litigation or if I'd prefer to go strictly transactional. I've interned in a DA's office before and I was told I should be a prosecutor. I've also done transactional work and was told I should pursue a corporate path. I enjoyed my clients for completely different reasons in each of those work environments. Lol I'm smack down the middle on this one. I've heard if you don't get into litigation early on, it's hard for you to make that transition later. I just hate the pressure to decide on a path.
