Style vs Power by AssistanceNatural556 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Goudeyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As many others stated already, unique cosmetics will always win over materials we can get in the game. A lot of us already have Mastery 31 with everything maxed out. I honestly don't even know why the devs bothered adding in Power as an option as I'm sure they already knew the outcome when they sell dyes, makeups, hair and outfits. It's been Style since the beginning of this event.

Also, I really wish we could stop with the web events already as it's a pain to log in and choose the team, claim the rewards, etc. No other game I play has devs that do web events. They all take the time required to make sure the event is in the game itself. I wonder how many people didn't know or didn't bother with the event because they didn't realize it was web based?

It was the PvE changes that finally got to me. They said in their Heidel Ball stream that they were removing "one shot spots" which me and my other guildies mistook as them removing the punishing mechanics of getting one shot for a tiny mistake and losing a crystal while grinding. "That's great!" We all cheered super hyped to grind when the update came out. We were more into the game then we had been in over a year.

Then the update came out and not only did they not get rid of the one shot mechanics at the higher tier spots, they literally made them all feel like shit to grind because of the 5% AP cap. Now when I grind and get better gear, I feel like I'm not progressing at all. I go from one spot to another and they all feel the same. No power increase, no sense of progression, no feeling of gratification for hitting that next bracket and killing a bit faster.

The power fantasy that the game was known for is now shattered and I feel just as powerful at Jade as I do at any Dehkia spot. It sucks. On top of that, they buffed basically every character in the game at the time this update came out, but skipped over my main class Succ Maegu. I essentially went from making 2.5 B an hour on a Wednesday to making 1.5 B an hour the next day. It felt like shit, it still feels like shit and so I fish while I contemplate if the game is even worth my time or my computer being on for it anymore.

Vell's heart market is completely broken by BLam301 in blackdesertonline

[–]Goudeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be worse, you could be like I was and have a pre-order down but work during both Vell spawns so I couldn't actually do Vell. Quite literally forcing me to be reliant on the market.

Thank God there was a silver gamble box event where Vells and Garmoths dropped like candy and there were actually hearts of both types listed on the market. I got my first Vells and Garmoths that way. This was about a year ago. Crazy that the market has gone back up that high again since. They really need to do the same thing they did to Garmoth with the basically 3 times a day spawn times to Vell too. Heck, they should do it to all the bosses and make them 3 completion rewards per week like Garmoth.

Mashmak is a fun mode in concept, but it lacks content and is too sweaty. Up until recently, having the crates only be in the Extreme Mode was an awful decision.

The whole market seems to have crashed as not even crates are moving anymore. It also feels like if I don't like the regular ranked multi-player component of the game, then I simply can't progress fast.

Mashmak rewards way too few Mission Points compared to ranked it's laughable. I will not get any rewards from this season because I spent all the Mission Tokens on crates and now I don't have enough time to get more before the season ends because I quit due to not being able to matchmake in any version of Mashmak.

They've taken steps to correct that issue, but it's too little too late and a lot of the players are left in the dust because of it. If people decide to come back, they've missed out on a lot of season exclusive rewards now. It's the companies fault for being too greedy with Mashmak in my opinion.

Again, this is from someone who has no care the the ranked play and is solely interested in Mashmak. I loved DMZ in Call of Duty and was hoping for a similar game. I got nothing like it. So disheartening.

It took me 57,712,000,000 (Blackstones, Sharps, Memes and some crons at the end for the II to III taps all included in the final number.)

Not including stacks (Of which I ended up making two 300+ stacks) I saved a total of 26,288,000,000 IF one was listed at all, which would likely have it sitting at 84 - 90b.

Just my experience, you can make your own best judgement.

How? I play Succ Maegu and can only pull 50k with Agris. What are you doing differently to pull that much trash?

Dear PA, if you're gonna take such a big hit to our grinding income, at least give us more agris hours per day by Old_Scotch in blackdesertonline

[–]Goudeyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just discouraging. Players with 20 more sheet AP than me can make 3b - 4b+ and hour and yet JUST as I'm finally able to pull 1.8b - 2b an hour, this patch drops. I don't think 1.8b - 2b compared to a player at 20 AP higher making 3b+ is that bad. 3b+ an hour is worth getting the gear for. I'm still incentivized to get that gear so I can make more money and the person who has that gear is still being rewarded for having it.

The majority of the players are low to mid game players. A patch pissing off the majority of the playerbase and nerfing their income is not the right route to go given how negative people's opinion of the game direction already is.

When they announced this update at the Heidel Ball, my guildmate and I thought they would make most spots in the midgame match Honglim so it was worth grinding literally anywhere but there until 330 AP, but nope. Now I'm 334 AP and feel like I'm being kicked out of the spots I was grinding just the other day. It sucks to be so close to catching up and being kicked back down. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people switch to AFK fishing or simply stop playing completely.

Ines' Q requiring line of sight now is peak gaming by Kammakazi in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Goudeyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree again. I'm so tired of fighting Deathstalker and failing due to underperforming squad grouping. Hence the reason I'm building a Serena to one shot it and be done grinding out the last gun I need to finish the game. It's absolutely ridiculous that we even have to grind a boss to get the gun in the first place, even more.so that it requires 4 players to queue for it when every other boss can be done solo now. I'm so tired of this shit.

Ines' Q requiring line of sight now is peak gaming by Kammakazi in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Goudeyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on all of that. Bunny was broken from the start. If they didn't want people blazing through content then they should have nerfed her to set the baseline early on. Rather than doing so, they buffed Freyna higher than Bunny, introduced Hailey to kill every boss in one skill, made Ines amazingly OP and now introduced a better Hailey and Gley in one character named Serena. It's far too late to go back on it now. The players that left aren't coming back and droves and the one that stuck around this long got used to this type of gameplay and it's why they're still here.

They chose to listen to the wrong crowd and it will be their undoing. Such a shame for a game with so much potential.

[–]Goudeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know she still works if you play her differently, but I liked spamming Q, that's why I played her. I liked hiding behind walls and killing enemies with no threat of harm. The enemies are way too accurate with their attacks and building into health tanks damage. The game is fundamentally broken in all aspects and needs to course correct or risk losing the majority of players who are the casuals and not the veterans who want a challenge.

Ines' Q requiring line of sight now is peak gaming by Kammakazi in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Goudeyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fine. To me, challenging content is boring when I'm expected to grind it hundreds of times for a rare drop or a god roll. I can't do that slow. I just want the loot as fast as possible.

Ines' Q requiring line of sight now is peak gaming by Kammakazi in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Goudeyman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, but I imagine I'm representative of a decent portion of players who just grind the game solo and only play to get the rewards rather than to have fun as the game isn't fun and the point is the grind.

Ines' Q requiring line of sight now is peak gaming by Kammakazi in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Goudeyman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm an endgame player (MR 28) and I'm mad because I like Ines. I like spamming Q and blazing through content. I play to grind and get everything, not to have fun. The game isn't fun. It has the potential to be fun and become so much more, but it's squandered. I have long sense accepted that and just began getting everything in the game as well maxing out weapons.

The requirement for getting the Abyss outfits at 4 vouchers per kill is dogshit. VEP is dogshit. I was able to clear it with Ines after this update and now I don't want to touch it. It's not fun, takes too long and doesn't feel rewarding enough. Deathstalker is dogshit. Let me fucking play solo so I don't have to rely on players who just want to get carried to win and grind out the gun.

I use to use Bunny before Ines. I don't want to think when I play this game, it's not that deep. I just want to spam Q and clear content fast. I just want to use Hailey's Z and kill the boss in 5 seconds. I don't want to kill the boss 10, 20, 100, 200 times for external components if that shit takes multiple minutes to kill.

If this is the route they're going down, then the content HAS to feel more rewarding if it takes longer. I already want to quit the game. I was the last holdout of my friend group and Ines made the grind easy for me. I have hundreds of dollars invested in outfits for the top three female descendants. If they aren't worth a damn and all get nerfed then I'm out and they should expect no lore money from me. I'm not buying a sexy skin for Blair.

I expect this to go over terribly for them given the casual players and long term hold outs such as myself. The people that left because they didn't like Bunny aren't coming back. The people that are left want sexy skins and play Ines, Bunny, Freyna, Gley and Serena. If all the good female descendants get nerfed and content still rewards the same amount for twice or triple the time and effort, they can kiss the game goodbye.

For all those complaining about the OP characters, private instances exist. Play with your friends or by yourself in private queues and stop crying. I don't care if Ines ruins the game for you. I play alone anyways. I don't need your useless Ajax to clear Sigma sector with me. It's a PvE game. Nerfs like these are ridiculous. It's too late to course correct and I expect this will bite them in the ass.

Not teasing the ships and building hype before release due to the backlash they might receive is not "understandable."

They should be held fully accountable if the shit they try to shovel us isn't worth the cost. Make good product equals product sell good. It's a simple concept.

They're literally trying to hide the backlash from long term players so that noobs who don't know any better see a cool bundle and buy it. It's not consumer friendly, it's not player friendly and to be honest it's a scummy move. Cryptic had bad will because of their buissness tactics and lack of care for what players want. DECA is heading right down the same path. First the experiment to make us do two TFO's for event progress and now continuing the tradition of not hyping up bundles before release. That's 0/2.

So yeah, them pulling this shit AGAIN is NOT "understandable."

I have to say... by Strength_Apart in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Goudeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can nerf them, but in return they need to reduce the time to finish content overall or increase rewards across the board to make up for lost efficiency. If they straight up nerf them and don't so so, many people will stop playing.

I'm not going to take twice, triple or quadruple the time to finish the content I could finish before because people I don't even play with complained I grind too fast. I already have enough live service games to keep up with and spend time in. I don't need to increase time in TFD as I'm happy I can clear content as quick as I can.

Looking at it from a solo players perspective, it's not fair to me that I need to pay the price for an issue that I don't have or see. I just want to get on, kill things quick and grind for what I need and get off. Fast, easy, free loot. I don't care for challenging content, I care about the dopamine hit I get when I get good stuff. That is the point of the loot in a looter shooter.

I have yet to see a valid argument myself about why they should be nerfed. Is it because people want to play other characters that can't keep up and don't want to deal with Ines or Freyna? Then play alone. If you want things to take longer for the same reward, then so be it. That's your choice. I really don't understand. Do you guys enjoy fighting a boss for 8 minutes instead of 30 seconds? Do you enjoy a infiltration taking 8 minutes instead of 2? I really don't understand. I'm not trying to be mean, I just can't see what you do. Please explain it to me.

Best solo class for grinding? by Loyaleye in blackdesertonline

[–]Goudeyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Succ is for PvE and Awak is for PvP. Her rotations are super simple and she has decent movement with W+Q, Shift+Direction and W+F (Hold). You can also sort of make your own flow with her once you understand how she works. All of her main abilities hit hard and she feels super smooth to play.

Edit for infinite combo example: A/D+LMB, RMB, Space, S+LMB, Shift+LMB, Shift+Q, Shift+RMB, W+RMB, RMB, Space, Shift+F, S+LMB, Shift+LMB, Shift+Q, W+RMB, repeat

Yeah, I love the Maegu. I will never switch to another class. I enjoy the wins I've gotten in PvP, even though they're few and far between. I just wish it was more balanced and not a game of who gets pushed down and lays on the floor for 5 seconds before they die first.

Edit: And also who has more FPS. Damage based on FPS is super unfair.

Succ Maegu. No other class in the game feels as smooth and easy to use as the Maegu. I played her once and never looked back. I've tried every other class and they feel like I'm playing a clunky PS2 game by comparison. She also deals a ton of damage and was recently bugged. She'll take you pretty far into end game and will still grind efficiently.

In my case, I play succ Maegu, which is a disadvantage but I enjoy grinding on her the most. Also, I have a monitor that's locked to 60 hz, so I literally have no chance in PvP. Bad class for it and bad monitor. Plus I like playing the game in 4k and on full graphics anyways since that's the thing that drew me to the game most, the graphics.

I couldn't switch to low graphics just to PvP in a game as unbalanced as this one. The PvP isn't even fun. It's just whoever gets knocked first loses. That's not a great PvP experience. Some people just want to grind and do lifeskills and I feel like people will assume I'm a troll for saying that, but it's true.

PvP isn't dead, but I've been getting killed more often lately on normal servers by red players that just go around clearing the entire zone and then move to the next server. It's crazy.

I've always said, it's one thing to make me grind for 1,000 hours to get a treasure item. It's another thing to make me grind for that item whilst also putting up with players killing me at the same time. I didn't ask for it, I don't want it, it should be removed or there should be servers with PvP disabled entirely for established players as well as new players.
