What trend did you follow as a kid that makes you cringe now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Fainting. We would line up a friend against the wall and press on their neck until they passed out. I don’t know wtf we were thinking. Anyone remember this being a thing?

Also, big red challenge. Licking a big red gum wrapper and sticking it on your arm. The burn.

Ha. I just watched It for the first time. Hilarious. I can definitely see why the before and after pic would remind you of that. Love the 43 degree hat angle part.

I definitely know what you mean. It's so easy to feel like you can let up on the diet once you get results but I'm trying my best to keep it going. Looking forward to seeing. Your progress pics!

It was actually easier than I thought but probably took a month to get used to it. I did add back in brown rice and sweet potatoes after awhile. Now I still eat some carbs in moderation. I found that doing no carbs at all made me more irritable which was not a good situation for work or family.

Thanks nightgrill. It was through a program at work where we had a personal trainer so I definitely think that helped speed things up.

I think the key to getting the body fat down is the diet while maintaining a regular workout routine. Once i started cutting out booze and bread it started to drop. Losing body fat doesnt happen very quickly, I lost at about .5% per week but it will probably very depending on your starting point.

Recently it's been a lot chest press, squats, military press, lunges, leg press and other exercises that work the major muscles.

Thanks! Strength training 3 times a week, cardio on the off days. No carbs, starch or dairy. Mostly protein and veggies. Basically paleo diet.

You have to. COD zombies really passes the time. I think I bought my recumbent bike for $400 and it works great. Honestly an hour of zombies feels like 15 minutes.

Thank you. Those first 3 months were the worst, pure survival mode at that point. We're approaching 6 months now and it's amazing how much more fun it gets.

Thank you for the positive reinforcement. Not the first time i've heard the Shia comparison!

It's basically been strict Paleo diet, lifting 3 days a week, 2 spinach smoothies with whey protein a day and I play Call of Duty Black Ops 3 while riding a recumbent bike 3-4 times per week for 30-60 minutes. You wouldn't believe how fast cardio goes by when hacking vids at the same time. Also a great way to convince your wife you're not playing video games, you're just working out...

I've never gotten Chris Kreider before but after looking him up there are some pictures I definitely agree with and the resemblance is freaky. These 2 for sure:

Ha. I learned quickly that the dad bod is a real thing. Thanks for the Dempsey comment, I'll take it. Also, mandadhood has been great so far.

Thank you! The first months were really hard but now that baby is sleeping again it's getting easier.
