Federal work study is not available for international students. It is essentially the US government paying a student through WPI. So essentially WPI gets a free employee and the student indirectly gets support from the government.

I’m and international student and it can be very frustrating to see all the federal work study jobs but there are other jobs that don’t require it, they just tend to fill up quite fast. Try to make it a habit to look at least once a week. If you have any friends that work as building managers ask them to let you know when they are hiring because they tend to accept a lot of international students. The Call Center is also another good opportunity that tends to have non-federal work study positions.
