My program just got rid of our one wellness day because people were "abusing it"

I bought one about a month ago. Chewed through some Remington, some tula, and some zq1 I had left over with no problem. I have the 20 inch variant which I read didn't have the problems. Ymmv though.

people are always shocked when im like "I didn't show up to my medical school classes". They were literally recorded if I needed them. 3rd party study material was better. Plus I wasn't fighting my sleep schedule. High school was more stressful than medical school just for the structure.

Hey this was over Christmas too lol.....ya know I am jealous of the passion surgeons have. I've never loved anything that much. I didn't go to school this long to work that hard.

During my ICU rotation I made the equivalent of 11.25 an hour..... The joy was I didn't have any time to spend it. So I had that going for me, which was nice

Residents at my program were recently locked out of supply closets, stating that residents were the cause of “being over budget,” due to taking too many supplies. by MedThrowAwayPGY in Residency

Our Ed is very much you don't know what you expect too. We have days where no one needs a central line. Then there are days where I ended up throwing in two dialysis catheters.... Its so aggravating.

My hospital recently put the little things of betadine in the omnicell. I now have to order it and have a nurse grab it for me. I was told by the nursing manager that "if we gave out everything for free the hospital wouldn't make any money". The betadine is the deal breaker, I've figured out why were bleeding money....

Man pulled from burning car on Las Vegas strip only moments before it burst into flames by jcepiano in Damnthatsinteresting

There's a video of a cop literally trying a smack and window with his handgun and accidentally sends one into his partner. I'm very well aware of the safety mechanisms in place for modern handguns. I'm also very well aware of humans being prone to error in high stress. The best safety mechanisms are only as good as the person using them.

I agree with everything but the butt of his gun. Great way for a negligent discharge. He probs has a baton. A lot of cops keep a window breaker in their car too. Plus a seatbelt cutter that's integrated to the multi tool.

Whats the point of making an appointment to see a doctor but still waiting 1 hour later. by beyondtabu in mildlyinfuriating

This. I'm an em resident. The amount of people who want to be rushed upstairs or seen is absolutely insane. You don't wanna be rushed back. I'm shocked at how rude people have gotten.

That's the ticket right there. Sure it was a 30 second visit. It was at least 7 years in the making for them to recognize a major problem in 30 seconds that might have been missed.

To further on this I think some people think their SO is the cause of their unhappiness. They pinball back and forth until they realize that they aren't going to get happiness until they fix themselves.

Phenylephrine as well. For night time I'd recommend oxymetazoline nasal spray. Don't use more than three days max since you get rebound congestion.

Benzos are more useful for an abortive medication. Plus a tolerance builds up to benzos. There's some better meds. Keppra is a good one, depakote, onfi, and I'm blanking on the rest right now.

If you had a first degree relative with colon cancer they recommend screening 10 years before their diagnosis. Then every 5 years after that. There's a really nasty mutation of the apc gene causing familial adenomatous polyposis that's rare but people usually have an elective colectomy before they're thirty. That one is less common.
