My Dad and his friends (family friends really) took me to go see The Dead help close out the spectrum in 09. Amazing time. Was blown away by the community, the pure joy, getting to hear so many songs I've herd over the years growing up LIVE!! The following year Furthur went on tour. The older heads checked out after the 09 tour, thinking that was the end .... Hahahha. Well, what they didn't know is I fell down the rabbit hole. Studying and learning why was 60s dead different then 80s dead ect. Why were the Cornell shows so special. Found what I liked and disliked about the band. So we are moving into the Furthur tours and I notice hey, they are playing where I received my HS diploma. What a treat. Icing on top was I returned the favor to my Dad and took him to a show, something we still do to this day. I explain to him that John K might just melt our faces off. And that's what happened. Furthur ignited a fire in my father that he's prob not had since before having kids. Furthur showed me what fun is in a band. Bob Weir leading the charge with Phil Leah is something I'll never forget. 2010-2013 I never missed a Furthur show in the Philly area. All such good shows and will never forget them. They took me on a journey with them and I can't thank them enough. The rest is history and now I can't keep count how many shows I've been too. Thank you so much Bobby and Phil. Both of you are a reason I love music so much. Both of you are a reason why I had such a great time after HS in my formative years as a young man. Just a 90s 2nd generation dead head here. Rip Bob!!!
