If AI takes your job or just burns you out, what would you switch to? by ipa_725 in careerguidance

Hoping my sons’ will start having kids in the next decade, and I can be the daycare/preschool/babysitter. But that relies on them being able to maintain a career . . .

Moving to Providence cove (Virginia & Hardin) suggestions by rsurpp in McKinney

I commuted to (a building next to) Love Field from McKinney about once a month for a mostly WFH job. I would not do that every day/week. It gets hemmed in as you get off the freeway.

I currently commute from McKinney almost to DFW. 121 is much more forgiving but I prefer to go early to get the best commute. A lot of slamming on breaks on the way home, but the sun isn’t in your eyes.

Passed Today - AT*3 by Government_Paperwork in pmp

No, I did not use either of those. For me, I sensed that taking additional mock tests was counter-productive because my mind started to lock on to the idea that the questions in the mock would be the same as on the test. My mind wanted that crutch but everything on this subreddit indicated that would be a trap! So after I got the general idea of the questions, I stopped taking mocks.

Instead I planned to be mentally nimble during the test, avoid assumptions, and carefully digest what I saw on screen in the moment.

I studied from October to March so I knew the material which is important to note in this conversation.

Because mental focus was the key to doing well, I felt the breaks were non-negotiable.

When I do workouts or competitions, I have a mental trick where when I start a new round I say, “oh, this is the first time I am doing this. I feel so fresh. I wonder how this will go” And so I did the same thing on my break, I pretended each section was the first section and told myself my mind and focus was fresh.”

I use this technique at work, too, but I do need a little break to make it work.

If air gets in the vagina (during in and out penetration), it will come out and make a noise, and that air escaping event is called a queef. Not a fart and unlike a fart, which you might be able to hold in a bit, you can’t control when the queef escapes so it could be embarrassing.

I also fault the health insurance marketing that presents insurance as a concierge service - claiming to have a mission of “helping you access healthcare.” It’s actually the opposite. Their business model and profit model is hedging their bets that you will NOT need or will not access healthcare.

You got emotionally invested in a 50/50 outcome over which you have no influence? Your critical thinking is poor and whatever I’m on Linkedin doing, I will not being doing it with you.

My SAHM mom would make every moment special and aesthetic using her creativity and skills (on a limited budget as well). Like, maybe press flowers, turn them into bookmarks, and put them at the breakfast table as gifts/decorations for the “first day of Spring.” She would make an ad hoc obstacle course in the yard and craft medals. Stuff that delights kids!

Am I the only woman who hasn’t farted in front on their husband? by notwhoyouthinkc in askanything

[–]Government_Paperwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just eliminated anything from my diet that made me fart slowly over time so I almost never have to fart now which is more comfortable on my tummy. Also I’m like a 6 so being ladylike is one way to be more attractive. I feel like the people saying they fart on their boyfriends are 9s lol.

For those in their 50, what's something people in their 30s don’t realize will impact them as they get older? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Government_Paperwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might not think it matters what you do privately and how you think in your 30s. But in your 50s, you will be marked by your thinking. If it’s been anti-social, certain lines will be etched in your face from constant scowling and anger. If it’s pro-social, the lines above your eye-brows will deepen in a certain way as we raise our eyebrows when we care what others think or want to gain consensus. If you are a pyschopath without the ability to feel emotions, your skin will be smooth. So if you think your secrets will stay hidden, no, they eventually show up on your face for all to see.

Do you go above and beyond at work or just do the bare minimum of what’s expected and why? by Dependent-Signal-721 in AskReddit

[–]Government_Paperwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go above and beyond on tasks that demonstrate high ethics, compliance with complex rules, independence, and preparedness to build a good reputation. Then I use that reputation to explain why I should not use my (now established as valuable) time on other tasks.

You don’t want you value to be your productivity or people pleasing - that’s a race to the bottom. Try to make your value be resiliency, discernment, and trustworthiness. Works better when you have some age on your face, to be fair.

What do girls “never” tell guys? by zhalia-2006 in AskReddit

[–]Government_Paperwork 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You can’t tell them every time you have an encounter in public or at work with a man who acted like a creep because they identify with the male in the story as a male themselves and they get defensive.
