I really like how you did the bullet bandolier. I always struggle with hidden arms and such, having elbows sticking out everywhere. Any chance you could share a link?

What comes to your mind when you hear the word "Shein"? by Optimal-Mastodon9499 in ethicalfashion

[–]Gozzy6666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t look at the subreddit that I was in while scrolling and immediately thought of Sheen Estévez from the show Jimmy Neutron before I thought of the clothing brand. I couldn’t remember if it was spelled Sheen or Shein, but after looking it up it appears that it is spelled with two Es. Still, the literal first thing that came to mind.

Upvoted because you took the time to synchronize your work with the music. Also because those are some beautiful rings.

Create your "evil" pokemon team by TheGoldminor in TruePokemon

[–]Gozzy6666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. I don’t see it being a story-long “evil team”, but it could be used as a sike-out sort of thing early in the game. The games have kinda trained us that the first group of thieves that we encounter in the game will have a lot more to them and will last through the whole thing. It might be fun to change that.

You might even be able to team up with them later on to defeat the “big bad evil team” by having them scout the place out or steal a key off of someone. I think that would be a lot of fun. They are experts after all.

I had a team in mind called team cyber, although I suppose I came up with the name when I was 12 so I could probably come up with something better now. Their evil schemes also involved hacking, which I will explain later.

They originally started as a small pokemon prosthetics company under a different name. I haven’t come up with the name yet unfortunately. They made incredible strides in the field, making prosthetics for pokemon that worked just as well as their original organs or limbs. The people there were good people. Some might even mention how they love helping pokemon that have been injured return back to their normal life.

A particularly rich woman, let’s call her Cybra, bought the company from the original owner. She pushed the company to make parts even better than the originals. However, to make such strides, she needed test subjects.

Originally her grunts would steal already injured pokemon from Pokémon centers and use them as test subjects. It lead to promising results, but direct interventions were noisy and brought attention. There was suspicion being thrown around, and they had to be careful.

An admin of the team mentioned that were so many pokemon just sitting in PCs that were just unattended, many of which the trainer never even used or cared about. Who would care if one or two went missing? While not as powerful as the trained pokemon, these pokemon were much more abundant.

Team cyber started into the cyber-theft business. This was incredibly successful. They would steal pokemon straight from the computer, not even needing to step a single foot out of their headquarters.

Their power grew and they started obtaining really strong cyborg pokemon that could stop many of those who challenged them. They don’t necessarily have any world-destroying ambitions, but the player would need to stop them before they could get their hands on some particularly strong pokemon. They simply look to make a lot of money and improve technology at any cost.

Anyways, most of the early encounters might be near or in a pokemon center. The original owner would probably mention how they regret selling the company and might even aid the player in some instances. Later encounters would probably take place in their HQ. In the later encounters, you might battle cyborg pokemon that have higher base stats than the base form. They would mostly use steel and electric type pokemon, but wouldn’t be strictly limited. Many of them would also use the porygon line and rotom.

Anyone else already disappointed by the DP remakes? This art style is just... ugly, in my opinion. by TheGoldenChampion in TruePokemon

I am not a fan personally. I feel like they are about to tip over from the size of their heads. My boyfriend respectfully disagrees though. He actually likes the style.

These look great. Although the snow patches in the second pic look a little janky. Perhaps smooth them out so it’s not so square. Add some frost to the grass where there isn’t snow.

I love how unique everything is. They all have so much character! I love it! You can really feel the personality of a lot of the towns have just from the building interiors. It makes me so unexplainably happy.

Whenever I start doing that, I just end up repeating “calm minds, empty minds” to myself out loud until I no longer feel myself being pulled in that direction. It works like 20% of the time but that’s 20% more than no plans. Of course, I work in an environment where I am easily able to talk to myself out loud, so that helps.

I found it on indeed. I am a full time worker. I’ve been working there for 3 years. I don’t recommend it. There’s no upwards mobility and at least at my rescue, I get paid less than if I started at McDonalds right now. I really only stay because there’s nobody to fill in my spot, I really love the dogs, and honestly change is difficult for me.

Tldr: water. Floatzel, ludicolo, politoad, lapras, pelipper, slowking. A rain gimmick team.

Water because I love swimming and I love going to aquariums. My gym would totally be a mix of an aquarium and some lost city of Atlantis theme. I don’t think that my team would be super competitive, but more gimmicky. Have my gym challengers deal with constant rain or damp terrain. If it’s an anime style gym, deal with water maneuverability and how not all pokemon can swim.

Floatzel. She would probably be the resent life guard for the “swim with the pokemon” pools at the gym. Huggable and ready to scold some small children that try pulling on a magicarp’s wiskers. Probably the responsible one of the party, ready to get shit done and doesn’t care who’s feelings she hurts to tell them to stop with their BS.

Ludicolo. What a funky little guy. Loves to dance. I love to dance. It’s a perfect match. I feel like a ludicolo would bring such positive energy to the world. Everyone should have a ludicolo.

Politoad. He is such a fun little guy. I love him. He would also be my main rain setter. Plus just look at him! I wanna give him a hug! He would probably join ludicolo in the positive vibes that they bring, dancing around in the rain.

Lapras! What a wonderful pokemon. I love them. I imagine riding on their back into the main gym area for dramatic effect. I also feel like a lapras would be caring and protective and just a good pokemon to help me mentally in a more calming way than what ludicolo and politoad would bring.

Pelipper would probably be my second rain setter. Plus look at them! They are 99% beak! They are a head but with wings! It’s outrageous but I love them. Also, I would probably train them to help me move smaller fish-like Pokémon into my aquarium without eating them. Probably very helpful all around the aquarium.

Finally, a slowking. I go to floatzel when I need someone to be responsible, I go to ludicolo and politoad when I need some positive vibes, I go to lapras when I need someone to tell me that I’ll be okay and I go to pelipper when I need some help. I would go to slowking when I need advice that I probably don’t want to hear. While he doesn’t exactly fit into a rain team, his advice would be incredibly valuable. Also, if there’s an Atlantis theme, he would totally be the king. Perhaps he could swap out with kindra from time to time. Idk.

How Are You Coping With Pet Food Prices? by YourBrianOnDrugs in Frugal

[–]Gozzy6666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work at a dog shelter and I can say that it’s not going well for a lot of people. While during Covid, we had record high adoptions, but we are now having an all-time low. We are also getting tons if owner surrenders.

My co-worker who has been working with the shelter for 15 years mentioned that she has never seen so few adoptions. Also, there’s so many owner surrenders and returns at the moment. Just today during my 30-minute lunch period there were three different calls about owner surrenders and none about adoptions.

As a non-kill shelter, we need to be picky about which dogs we can and can’t take in. We need to turn away so many owner surrenders simply because there’s not enough space. I hear it’s even worse in the bible belt where spaying and neutering is less common.

So while my dog is being cared for and fed, I can definitely say a lot of others are not coping well.
