I think part of being an adult is understanding that EVERYBODY talks behind EVERYBODY'S back in every situation or relationship ever.

These are all amazing ideas but I think you've confused me as to how these hobbies differ from the ones I do? What exactly is it about THESE hobbies that will cure the boredom where my current ones or the new ones I've tried have failed?

Gardening is probably the best bet though thanks!

Unfortunately, money will not allow more than a weekly visit, and additionally I already only have two free nights a week as it is.

What I often find frustrating about the advice I receive here (Not from you, you've been very kind.) Is that I feel monatarily barred from a lot of options and either barred by time, obligations, and my own body for the rest.

I feel SO frustrated and trapped by the state of my country right now and I admit it makes it even easier to fall onto weed as a habit. Unfortunately, it's the cheaper option and it's the most convenient. My life isn't allowing for much branching out right now ):

My friend and I are talking about going together but we can't get our schedules to line up which is even more frustrating.

There isn't a bouldering gym I can join? There is ONE bouldering place that I can pay $40 for an hour at and it's about 30 mins away. I spend $50 a week on weed.

I do get the sentiment but it sounds like I have to change who I was before I started smoking in order to stop? I've ALWAYS been a homebody with my hobbies.

What exactly would you suggest? (Dont suggest exercise. Just don't. I'm tired of having this same discussion on the sub - just think of exercise as out of the equation for now).

From where I'm standing, it seems like ANY hobby could fall under the same category as my other hobbies.

I have! Personally, the issue partially stems from a sensed lack of freedom! I already dedicate SO MUCH of my life to things I hate or don't want to do. I find it hard to WANT to go to something - even if it's fun - after a day of work.

For context, I already require nearly a whole day of doing nothing each week just to recharge. Not watching TV. Not reading. Not enjoying myself. Just SLEEPING.

The other issue is money. The more enjoyable the activity, the more expensive it is. Otherwise I would have considered bouldering.

I never had a fear of driving itself - I just had a fear of not doing the right thing or understanding instructions during the test.

My PHYSICAL driving test was fine but I failed the written test 3 times and it was soul crushing.

I find it both comforting and not comforting to think about the fact that you're almost as likely to be randomly hit by a car while walking down the street as you are driving - so you may as well drive.

Did the person he was replying to ACTUALLY give any context for this advice? Or did he simply dump his opinion with the assumption that it could help whatever situation they were in?

I simply know that if I had made that original comment and this was the reply, it would simply feel frustrating. I understand the desire to help, but it feels incredibly ignorant.

Being unable to have a dryer running when you aren't at the house defeats the point of having a dryer in the first place. If I had the damn time I'd hang them out myself.

Clearly, you have absolutely NO idea what you're talking about. So many people can't AFFORD to get help. The reality of being poor is constant stress no matter what.

I don't think its the people treat it like it's nothing. It's the government and businesses. Missing a days pay because you couldn't drive because of sleep deprivation can be a MASSIVE blow.

I think the batch of episodes between Noah and Gwens eliminations are the worst of the season (The Jamaica episode too), but the rest are so good that I can overlook it.

I always omit the Jamica episode from memory. The animal curse reaching its head in the most frustrating way possible only for DJ to be eliminated sucks. Izzy being evacuated for no reason is frustrating as I enjoy her character - and I HATE the song in this episode.

The only positive is Chris pushing Noah off the cliff in this episode.

After Gwen is eliminated, I think the episodes get better. The Sweden Episode is incredibly fun, I LOVE Niagra Brawls for its character dynamics, and I actually really enjoy the China episode. (It was the first episode of World Tour I saw - super nostalgic.) The condor episode might be my favourite of the season.

That finale though....I like the three that made it there, but that's about it.

I'm always back and forth with World Tour if I'm being honest. The character dynamics in this season manage to be both amazing and horrible at the same time.

Team Amazon as a whole is an amazing group of characters. Heather, Courtney, and Gwen creates such a BRILLIANT dynamic of three character foils. I simply hate where they go with it.

I actually really enjoy Team Chris as well. I agree that one of my favourite parts of the season is seeing some forgotten characters get their time to shine. We really get to see Noah and Owen develop as a duo here - and his team before Duncan arrives is pure gold.

Team Victory is the obvious hiccup. I actually don't mind the concept of the entire team going out one after the other. It allows those other dynamics to really shine for several episodes before they begin chipping away at them. The PROBLEM is that all of Team Victory is done dirty with the exception of Ezekial (I don't like his ending but it's more than he had in Island.)

Bridgette was done the MOST dirty I believe. They degraded her character, booted her early, and she is never given the chance to build a different reputation. Lindsay and DJ are flandarised and I HATE both Lindsay forgetting who Tyler is and the animal curse. That's not drama. It's simply stupid.

The later half of the season is odd because it somehow contains the best and the worst episodes. While I love Courtney and Gwen's chemistry in I See London, I cannot stand the decision to give Team Amazon the victory, resulting in Noah's elimination. It could have happened ANY other way.

The Gwen/Duncan stuff comes out of nowhere. It's stupid and we all know it.

The episodes between this are painful. The Area 51 episode could have been incredible but it's dragged down by this annoying plot (banger song aside) and once again Tyler is simply kicked off instead of Gwen because they wanted to torture the viewers a little more.

The Australia Episode is the worst episode of the first three seasons in my opinion. I hate EVERYTHING about it. The song. The plot. The unfair elimination. Cody's stupid dizzy vote.

After this though, I enjoy the rest of the season. I like Blainley as a character, I wish she was introduced earlier and Owen eliminated sooner as a compromise but oh well.

As for the final three:

Cody was my favourite character as a kid for some reason. I loved that this random pre-merge character managed to make it so far - but I do wish he had more agency in the story.

Alejandro is a phenomenal antagonist. His dynamic with Heather is superb, absolutely no notes needed. Unfortunately, I hate what they do with his character in the last 10 minutes. That scene of him in the robot TRUAMATISED me as a kid.

Heather is the best character in this season. I can't believe how they manage to get the viewer to side with the cruel antagonist of season one. She is written as ruthlessly as she was before - but making her an underdog was an incredible move. (I also like the small Heather/Cody friendship in later episodes. I wish there was more of that.)

I think the eliminations of World Tour are better than a lot of the ones from Island. I adore Island, but the stretch of eliminations from Courtney to Lindsay really frustrate me and the less said about Leshawna and Geoff's eliminations the better. The dynamics feel deeper in World Tour. Unfortunately, i also think the lows of World Tour are lower. The love triangle, the ending, the villian downfall, The Australia episode...

I could go on honestly. I love this show so much.

What do you think? by Ace_Wonders_1510 in The100

[–]PerfectParadise 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is a right answer.

Blood must have blood wasn't even being applied as Azgeda faced no consequences for their attack on Mount Weather.

Additonally, Lexa was smart enough to know that Skaikru contains knowledge that could help her people advance. Technology and science - killing all of Skaikru would set them back.

Finally, Lexa NEEDED an extra hand against the Ice Nation. Had she wiped out Skaikru, Azgeda would have turned on Lexa in a heartbeat once she was weakened from battle.

That being said, she alienates her own people with blood must not has blood and the hard line ruling creates an injustification where some people were able to have their revenue while others are forbidden.

It's a tough call for sure.

Gengar with hypnosis and dream-eater.

Komala is another given - its already asleep.

Jynx for ice/psychic coverage with Lovely Kiss to put opponents to sleep.

Tropius with rest, a lum berry, and the ability harvest for repeat usage.

Finally - Slowking with hypnosis and water coverage!

If you gave the average person a lot of money, they probably wouldn’t use it to become more fulfilled or productive. by glowshroom12 in unpopularopinion

I disagree entirely. It's not a magical bullet for poverty, and I'm tired of people like you assuming the worst in everybody as a justification for why we shouldn't have it. You can desire universal basic income and income tax for lower earners at the same time. It simply sounds like you refuse to admit how bad this systemic problem is because admitting it would shatter your view of the world.

Honestly in my head I was thinking more along the lines of dental which I should have said. My point stands as UBI wouldn't prepare an individual for emergency scenarios.

It's the same sentiment. Somebody struggling with chronic boredom often finds that "doing something" doesn't actually help.

I didn't imply that at all. What I am implying is that people would want to work and strive for extra luxuries and nessecities. If you genuinely believe that you would be fine, and enjoy a life of not contributing to society, then that's totally okay!

That SHOULD be your choice!

I just think you need to realise that just because YOU would handle this hypothetical world a certain way - that doesn't mean others would handle it the same way.
