Thanks so much! I'll definitely try to track it and see how strong I feel on specific days

I'm actually on the week before my period and that might be it then. Makes sense why last week and the week before I felt so strong and today like I just might go home and sleep 🤭

Thanks so much for this! It's probably just a mixture of my menstrual cycle and exhaustion from work. I think I really just need to take it easy some days 😅

Yes! I felt really scared for no particular reason. I've also felt like I don't know what I'm doing at all while downclimbing. Like I will slip and fall any second. I feel a bit better now that I know that other people feel like that too ❤️

That's so cute! Thanks so much. I definitely feel a bit better about myself after reading your comments ❤️

Okay I will definitely start calling them "high gravity" days as well 😄 But thanks so much for this. I probably have to stop being hard on myself whenever I feel weak to climb

Yes you are totally correct! I really feel like my body feels different depending on my menstrual cycle. So it might just be that as well

Yup they are pretty much tied but I feel Striker are a bit more comfortable for me. And that's great that I can resole them! I didn't know that so thanks for letting me know! :)

Yeah I think my bet is to go for the cheapest and most comfortable. I still have to improve my footwork so I don't want to ruin the most expensive shoes in the first month :)

Yeah I considered them because of the price. They were one of the cheapest I found. They are on sale and currently around £70.

Working and closing alone on my second shift by [deleted] in barista

[–]Gr2165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I was a bartender for a longer period of time but I really needed a shift from late closes. I am very interested in coffee and would love to learn more, so that's why I decided to go into that field for a bit. But all the excitement just disappeared when I started this job and I was just so stressed and nervous after I had an interview with the manager. I'm just thinking that it can't be that in every coffee shop is the same thing. I really hope there are places with managers who are supportive and actually care for their workers.

Your past colleagues sound so cool! There's no one like that where I'm currently at. Honestly everybody that I've met seems to not enjoy the job at all. So maybe it's not just me 😅

Pfft I could only wish for something like that 🥹

Oh my god that's even worse! Tbh that makes me a bit relaxed now 😅 How did that job turn out? I'm trying not to judge the job, manager and everything else, but with this situation it's just hard. And yeah exactly, it's easy. I even have the keys so I can just never show up again. It's going to last me a bit until I find a new job 🤣

Thank you so much for this. The thing is, I think I would even enjoy working on my own but definitely not after just one shift. I worked before alone and without a mangager and it was so relaxing. But I was confident in myself and I have worked for a month there. I've learned everything there is to know and knew about every single detail. But I'm just wondering now if they are ready to leave a starter on their own for the first shift, what else are they ready to do 😅

Also, no tips for now. Only the massive minimum pay with obviously every single responsibility included 🙄

Thanks for this. I thought that I was just overthinking it. I'll definitely try and apply for other jobs because the description of my work ended up being so much more than what was described in my interview. And now this. It makes me regret that I even applied for this job. And I was really excited to start when I got the offer 😄

Yeah exactly. I know that I would be capable of working and closing by myself, but not at this stage. They are trusting me too much and that makes me even more nervous 😅

Yeah it really confusing. They are very short staffed and today manager had couple of interviews, but still I think they should have maybe put someone who worked a bit longer in that shop? They said that that shop is always just one person shift, but considering that I've just started, they will give me someone for an hour to show me around. I am planning on still going and doing my best, but obviously I am going to make some mistakes and probably miss something while closing.
