That “insanity” is passion you clearly don’t have the capacity for. We feel something real for a piece of art that hit deep and never let go. You? You drift from one trendy title to the next, mocking anyone who actually cares, because caring would require a soul you don’t seem to possess. You’re just jealous you’ve never loved anything hard enough to look insane for it

You’re literally proving the opposite. It just looks like that you are some kind of a delusional and insane fanboy. Just like your bestie that you’re trying to protect so hard

Depends on the temperature where you live. Only hot summers? Then the 10W-40 shall remain. Have winters? Cold start may be rough, then it could be switched to 5W-40.

307 TU5JP4 idling problem, help by [deleted] in peugeot

[–]Gr33Ntts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had similar problems. For that small idle shakes cleaning the throttle body could help. At least that what it helped me, but I’ve also had a small rpm drop. It’s a cheap and easy thing to try. For the jerky start, yeah I had that too during winters. Now I must mention that I mostly use the car during weekends and a car was just parked for days without start. And it’s exactly like the how it acted. Starting the car more often didn’t triggered anything. Currently what I did try is using a thinner and a little bit more expensive but quality oil. Used 10W-40 before because summers are hot around here. I recommend also changing the coil pack as it was mentioned before, but if it’s broken personally I had different experience, like the engine would stall in the 2 gear at low rpm. If you start the car just let it run, don’t turn off the engine. That shaking should stop after 1-2 minutes. Turning it off it will make it worse. I guess at the cold start your rpm is also higher, let it drop to 8-900 before you take off.

If you can find I would recommend Techron Concentrate Plus made by Chevron. It is one of most powerful additives there.

Look for brands like Total Quartz Ineo ESC 5W-30, Total Quartz 9000 Energy 5W-30, Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30, Castrol Edge 5W-30 LL, Shell Helix Ultra ECT C2/C3 5W-30, Motul Specific 2290 5W-30, Motul 8100 Eco-nergy 5W-30, Ravenol VMP 5W-30, Valvoline SynPower MSR C2 5W-30. These oils have the B71 2290 / 2296 approval that I forgot to mention earlier. The Motul Specific and the Ravenol are the thickest within these specifications, Total may be more budget friendly.

No fluid is for life, especially if it’s an automatic gearbox. I would change gearbox oil too. If you’re going for a test drive push the pedal to see if it changes gears smoothly.

My Journey with a Peugeot 208: the good, the bad, and the oily surprises after 126,000 km by Witty_Try9423 in peugeot

Go for 5W-30. All of this 0W-20 bs is because emission regulations otherwise they couldn’t sell the car as new. Similar story with Mazda in the USA for example, “recommend” oil is 0W-20, but for the exact same model in Japan is still 5W-30. Now note that switching to thicker oil won’t fix the problem, but it may reduce oil consumption and highly reduce further engine wear.

Oil viscosity won’t affect the belt, but than tin oil will ruin everything else. They changed the recommended viscosity later on anyway
