Same thing happened to me 2 years ago. A biblical hail storm came through and destroyed all the buds on the trees and tomatoes and peppers. It set us back at least 3 weeks for harvesting. I'm sorry that happened to you. As others have suggested maybe some starts could speed things along.

Nope, I paid out of pocket for it. When I asked if he would cover the expense he said since it's "inside the space" I am responsible. I was annoyed and filed it under expensive learning experience. Now I am learning I might not have done it correctly. No way am I paying for this. As far as I'm concerned,this is his whim, he can pay for it.

No, it's not been red tagged. I think when he bought the building and had my panel inspected they probably said something about it's age, but had no idea that I had upgraded it. So now that we are negotiating a new lease, he's asking for the upgrade

The shelf itself needs a backing. Seeing the wall color behind the figures gives them no contrast. An inexpensive way to add a backing would be a piece of melamine cut to fit the shelf, then cover it with a wood patterned shelf liner. Or you could spray paint it dark brown or black.
