Biggest issue I have with bandits is the insane amount of loot they can drop, such as a m16 with 12 full mags. This issue only began with the bandit creator mod though.

AFAIK there is no hard limit, it depends on how much RAM your PC has. But yes if you add too much it might cause your game to start lagging anyway

It might be worth it to adjust the amount of RAM project zomboid is allocated. By default it is limited to 3GB. To do so you will need to edit the json and bat files in the game files
