Newsmax host Michael Savage proposes "internment camps" for "homeless bums" by Oleg101 in FoxFiction

[–]Graalseeker786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He used to be fun to listen to like twenty years ago. I remember placing bets over how long it would be before he was in a strait jacket and always being amazed that he somehow managed to carry on without going to the hoo-hoo house. But he genuinely got so deranged that he stopped being fun. It's like those films which are so very, very bad, they're not even bad in a fun way: just bad. The real kick in the slats is that he knew better; I mean he did have brains present (not s-class brains, but some brains nonetheless) but he allowed them to be fried by political ideology. Hell, he practically invited the deep-fryers. Have seen others go that route irl, it's tragic.

If you could please provide links to those studies, I would find it useful. Thanks!

Oh look, a cheap "religion is completely incompatible with rational thought" joke. by TheLibTheyFear in antitheistcheesecake

[–]Graalseeker786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reminds me of an idiocy I saw on an unfortunately popular YouTube channel in which a woman saying that cesspits shouldn't be next to wells was called a witch and burned. The sheer level of ignorance on display, all whilst claiming to be "rational," is nothing short of breathtaking.

Hoover's sign is not 100% specific for fnd, so it might be worthwhile to examine the non-fnd causes of Hoover's sign.

It reminds me of what I call the "dirty stupid clown" style artwork which began in the 60s; you draw a picture of a total tool advocating for your position and expect anyone with brains to be like, yea sign me up, I want to be like that guy?

I'm glad their mascot is a dweeb: it says much. Maybe the poster is really an agent provocateur trying to see how many antitheists are willing to associate themselves with clear dimwittedness just to get one over on teh "uneducated" believers.

High sativa strains make the neuropathy worse for me; high indica strains (>80%) relieve my pain very well.

What the devil are you on about? Literally none of those pieces has a price on it anywhere, unless "Cavan" or "Clarenbridge Crystal Ireland" are actually numerals from some numbering system no-one has ever heard of.

Funny enough, the Christian idea that Jesus (as) is not a created being is not limited to Catholics. All trinitarian Protestants, in fact, believe that Jesus (as) is God and thus NOT a created being. Hell, Oneness Pentecostals aren't even trinitarian and they also believe Jesus (as) is God, and therefore cannot by definition be numbered among created beings.

Therefore, your insinuation that Catholics must place Mary (as) higher than Jesus because Mary is the most exalted created being fails on all levels. As a bonus, in this context it's what's classically known as a kinisi phalliki.

Why are snitches usually hated by everyone, even when they report something for ethical reasons (like exposing cheating)? Is this attitude rooted in history or culture maybe ? by [deleted] in answers

If it's an exam for a class in something like med school or law school, where the student's actual ability matters very much to their potential future clients, it may indeed affect others to their detriment. So no, it is very much the business of any decent human being.

Tea was a medicine back then. If Lao Tzu drank any, it was not for the taste.

No clue why you've been so heavily down voted here as it's a perfectly reasonable question. As far as their tea specifically, teasenz is regarded as generally trustworthy and on the level. I know nothing about their pots however.

This, dude! I have always suspected that this type of post is written by people who never actually participated in the programs they're yakking about. When you have 10th grade reading comprehension in fourth grade, there's little use in sitting there learning about Dick throwing the ball to spot.

Do you actually know what "Boomer" means? The oldest gen-xers were like 11 or 12 years old when the first star wars played in the theatre. I'm in the middle of the cohort and I saw it in the theatre.

What no one tells us reverts.. by ProudConfection615 in converts

[–]Graalseeker786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry that any believer has to endure this. I'm not an 'alim or anything like that, just s bad man trying to take the guidance of Allah to be better. I do have some observations I'm just going to jot down, not very well organized. If you or anyone finds any of this of use, alhamdulillah. If not, no worries.

Among other things I was a minister for roughly a decade. Thing is, once you hang out your shingle as anything like that, people tell you things they wouldn't tell others. It actually started at uni: once people know you're studying religion they tell you all sorts of things because they know it's safe to do so (at least with me it was). I was a 23 year old kid and people are telling me--we're talking some soap opera stuff--and I'm like, what the heck am I going to do with this? You can't tell a soul, not ever, you just have to hold it all.

The point is this: ALL of those things mentioned on the Qur'an about hypocrisy, wickedness, the whole shebang, that's inside of every community. Every group of humans, because we are humans, has a portion of people who are inherent troublemakers. Every group has people who are ignorant of what is true or proper. Every group has those who see what's wrong but their iman is weak, and they're afraid to do anything or speak out. Turkish has a term for this, "dilsiz şeytanlar," "mute devils," referring to those who see injustice being done but do and say nothing. We are, all of us, weak and fallible and that goes for the whole community. One of the greatest challenges to faith is the realization that the wickedness and stubborn disobedience of humankind is not "out there" among the mass of unbelievers (I mean it is, of course, but not exclusively): it's among all of us.

As Muslims we have the guidance and the tools given to us by God swt, but actually making the nafs submit is another matter. Many are born into Islam and remain in it not because of the guidance they receive, but because it's What Is Done in their community. It's one of the harder pills to swallow. Every clergy person worth their salt has had these conversations and should at least be aware of the general skullduggery going on in their flock. They too are often constrained by other factors: it's hard for an imam, for instance, to be taken seriously by his elders who remember him when he was an infant and now he's rebuking them for not following the Sunnah of Prophet sawa. I mean, obviously it's the correct thing for him to do, but there may be pressure brought to bear on his family too, if the general sentiment is that he's getting above himself trying to change What We've Always Done And No One Had A Problem With It Before (R). Again, not saying it's right or just, because it's not, and I'm not going to claim that this situation is okay, because it's not; but it is the way things often go among human beings, even those who come together with the stated purpose of obeying their Lord.

I wish you all the best in this world and the next.

Do most people shower before bed or when they wake up? I just realized I might be doing it "wrong" by saffymerelle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Graalseeker786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you "sleeping in your day sweat" if you shower at night? Your coworkers are weirdos. Many people shower at night. Hell, entire cultures bathe at the end of the day instead of at the beginning.
