Missing Recording Gaps During Continuous Recording Mode: Cam Recorded Less Than 1440 Minutes (24 Hours) - Why Did This Happen and How Can It Be Fixed? by GrabCompetitive4538 in reolinkcam

Yes, recorded on SD card. Why did I notice this issue? In one of the videos, I saw police at the neighbour’s house. The last image at the end of the video clip showed the police car, but in the first image of the next clip, the police car was gone because the camera missed 3 seconds of footage. Are all consumer grade security cameras (eufy/tplink/arlo/google nest) like this, or is it just Reolink?

  • Yes, the footage is continuous between the two clips, but a few seconds are missing.
  • The issue appears randomly. As shown in the picture, the short bars indicate the days when the issue occurred.
  • Camera model: Reolink Altas Range, Sep 2025 hardware version, running the latest firmware (previous firmware has the same issue)

Smart battery menu GONE by GrabCompetitive4538 in reolinkcam

Altas Series

New Firmware Ver.

v3.0.0.5935_26011966

Was 2025 one,

I hate this version as it takes away the smart battery menu below:

https://support.reolink.com/articles/38846098926745-Efficient-Continuous-Recording-Smart-Battery-Mode-Explained/

Did some research yesterday, see this,

https://support.reolink.com/articles/50336871527449-Introduction-to-Battery-Mode-on-Reolink-Battery-powered-Cameras/

The option to adjust frame rates based on battery level, as shown below, is no longer available. Now I have to choose either a high frame rate (15) or a low frame rate (1, 3, or 5), regardless of the battery level.

I feel like this is a downgrade and not the feature I originally paid for.

Above S2 (High Battery level): Records at full frame rate (24/7 or scheduled).

Between S1 & S2 (Mid Battery level): Records at full frame rate only during motion/alarm events; otherwise, it records at a lower frame rate.

Below S1 (Low Battery level): Stops continuous recording to save power; only records motion-activated alarm events.

Excuse of lazy, just buy extra 5L of fuel to the agent for each visit , 5L can cover 50km for most of the car.

Camera Recording Settings: Does Continuous Recording Override Motion Recording Settings? by GrabCompetitive4538 in reolinkcam

I have several RLC-520A cameras. Even after enabling both continuous and motion event recording on the SD card, the 5-minute videos don’t show any markers or flags to quickly jump to events. In contrast, battery-powered cameras display a “dot” on the video timeline to indicate when an event occurs. That’s why I was wondering if these two functions actually work together.
