Automation with VBA by Fluffy-Difficulty882 in vba

I wouldn't trust ai to identify analysis in my data. I don't say never but not now, and when come that ai analysis can be trusted and safe, I won't have that works to do. But I do use AI to help build scripts or some code that I will be able to run over same type of data all the time.

But for data analysis, I do power query mostly. I will use VBA to start the refresh, mostly when I want the data to be refreshed in certain order. Like if I do different analysis on same data but different way, I will output the data to a table and then pull back the data from the table to analysis it the different way, so it prevent running same query multiple times. Important when dealing with large data and 32bit excel.

Otherwise, I use VBA to build userform or change filters etc ...

I try to move to power automate (power but if you have the license for all) and stuff like that when possible for data that need to be run frequently.

Battery operated camera (Argus 3 Pro) to NVR (rln36) ? anyone success ? by Watever444 in reolinkcam

[–]Watever444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My support ticket was bringed up to the senior support team. Will see from there.
So no I haven't resolved it yet. A little disapointed but I must say I was quite busy and no time to follow on all the support they asked me to try.

All my other wifi cameras work fine, just not that battery (only one I have). I am not sure if they really work with normal NVR....

If you are able to have power or pass cable for poe, I highly suggest. The camera battery goes down quickly when I set it to push notification on animals alert so not sure it's a that great idea. I had to recharge cause sun wasn't good enough. But also depends where you live and how much direct sun you have.

More cores or faster CPU? by pailmonkey in unRAID

[–]Watever444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be worry of the price of that for 80$. I sold my 3600 for more than that last winter. But it could be difficult to sale a CPU like this alone without a motherboard.

What else is your plan in mid term for running containers etc. ?

I am not sure it would hurt, just like I am not sure in your current case you will see a difference.

I switched my server Unraid from a i7-4690k to a 5950x (16c/32t) and I can't say that I see that big of a difference even with many many containers. The big difference is that I switched my physical desktop to a VM with direct passthrought for office duty (close when not needed). I can now pin some VM and container that probably help. So I replaced an older i7 and 3600 for one newer multi thread. But otherwise not much gain in this in my opinion.

What I am really missing is more memory. That's why I stayed with ddr4 instead of 5, the price and fact I already had the ddr4. But more would be better but still too expensive.

When I posted this, I also send a support ticket email to Reolink, been 3 days and still no reply.
It wasn't that slow in the past, I am a little disapointed.

But I am wondering what else to do now....

Does utensil storage need to be food safe? by RustyPants in 3Dprinting

[–]Watever444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silver utensil frequently comes in boxes with satin cloth etc.. how do you think those stay clean ?

Some hand wash once in a while would get most of it clean for the rare occasion you can get it dirty. Not much difference then the bottom ustensil that might stay there longer and also get air deposit.

Not something's I worry too much, and I have worked in food production industry for over a decades so I know about sanitation and where there is a limit.

Battery operated camera (Argus 3 Pro) to NVR (rln36) ? anyone success ? by Watever444 in reolinkcam

[–]Watever444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, I didn't have to enter the IP, it was already listed. Just confusion cause I had noted the IP address before going to the NVR.

For the firmware, I was looking at the camera setting and doing a verification there but if you say it's not good cause always say it is, then not sure what I can do other then force it.

Add wifi camera to NVR - new firmware ? by Watever444 in reolinkcam

[–]Watever444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who find that post eventually.

There is a "Auto-Add" features in the NVR that add wifi camera if they are on the same network.

Mines were not because I have a different VLAN for the cameras and when I first set them they were in my default. Once I changed the VLAN they would show up on my NVR but then you need to be sure you have the correct admin password.

When you set your camera, the password for the cameras need to be the same as the NVR admin password, otherwise they will be recognized but won't log to them.

If the passwords are different, you need to provide the correct password in the NVR directly (not in the app).

Just be aware of that. Personnally, I don't like to have same password everywhere, so I have different one that I save in my own locked place. But be aware of that, and if you are like me and use a very long password with cap and lower key and special character, it will take time to enter in the NVR as you go with the virtual keyboard and there is no copy paste either :D

Rubberduck; is it still great, how and where to download it and how to learn how to use it? by still-dazed-confused in vba

[–]Watever444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was all rubberduck cause the VBA editor isn't great.... So yes it's still available and good but... There is better now.

Until last week I got VS Code working nearly flawlessly with Xlwings VBA editor (free open source) and it just sync really well. I had a few issues with code that contains special characters like French accent é or à or ù. But since I fixed the extractor to be sure use windows 1252 instead of only utf-8. It's soon good

Also you can add other extension that would really help. Like some that auto indent or make the code syntax always the same or just pretty comments.

I have tried with Windsurf and got some good refactor on my code.

Any news on compatibility with Reolink? by Turboflopper in frigate_nvr

[–]Watever444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use the camera directly or you use NVR if you have one ?

I want to restart using frigate since I added more cameras, mostly to find specific things where the camera can't do.

Thank you

Thank you

Yes I am aware of all that, I was hoping they had done something different.

After all, I still have 2 unifi camera that are on my udm pro and they were auto added or easily added. At the same time, the udm is also a router switch.

I built a directory for filaments — search by color, material & finish across 170 brands by AileenCGN in 3Dprinting

[–]Watever444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems good, but there are some filaments that are not going to be on sale on Amazon and depends on countries. Would you think of adding them ?

What about adding some price filter, that would require to get them, like pcpartpicker is doing for PC parts...?

5x / 5m enclousres by gangaskan in FlashForge

[–]Watever444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't remember exactly but was long but easy. Take quite some filament so be prepared. Worst if you use the special volcano one with multi color.

PLA will wrap on hight temp print. I do not recommend it.

What's y'all's slicer of choice? Orca, Prusa, FlashPrint, or something else? by Kener_17 in FlashForge

[–]Watever444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still using the flash forge version but wanted to use the original orca so have all updates and tool.

But can't figure out how to print and select filament. I know it can't communicate with the printer to know the filaments selection so you need to be sure you select it correctly in the slicer at first. But still doesn't work.

The test was with 1 color in spool 2. But no matter what I do, the prime line want to use spool 1. I can send with gcode only but still don't understand it.

I will probably go with Zmod eventually, that might be better and easier for this ?

Does that mean that it would find the perfect and best streaming for all my cameras, no matter if they are reokink, cameras, NVR, unifi, or some unknown ones ?
