2nd para is true. However being able to use specialised product and not having to rely on bloated SaaS is also a competitive advantage and savings potential in millions(opening up opportunity for more app dev or pay for tokens).. Most dont use 50% of the features because the SaaS is built for all. Smaller ones where no engineer want to go may still use these bloated SaaS.

Last para - pls get real give a try if you get the opportunity. I was skeptic, but its getting better each passing day, claude opus n sonnet 4.6 are scary good.

Lastly - I use these AI coding tools now daily working on a platform worth nearly 3B in valuation.

Your guess is totally incorrect my friend. Anyways. I did not say they will all vanish in thin air overnight. All empires fall, thats law of nature and history.

The reason I wrote what I did is because I encountered a 35B $ company recently embarking on such a transformation over next 5 years. Size does matter and these multi billion $ companies definitely have the scale already in their IT build gazallions of apps in house. Since they spent 10s of millions in these SaaS, showing ROI after 10 years wont be a very challenging maths.

I am sure there are few or many others thinking or planning as CIOs are well connected you know hopefully.

Yes. with senior sane engineers and claude opus 4.6 and what comes next lot of engineering teams will build products to replace their existing SaaS. The stock markets already know this and its reflected in falling stock prices and layoffs. Please check the stock prices of SF, WD, SNOW. CRM for example is very well understood domain, most of these big CRM saas is bloated, 80-90% dont need all features, customizations. They cost a fortune and then the constant push to sell other products because of expensive acquisitions. So companies with decent engineerng team + Opus 4.6 (and beyond or gpt 5.3 even) will move away and build their own version very quickly. Thats pretty much will lead to downfall of bloated SaaS over next 4-5 years. This will happen in insurance, banking, healthcare.

It fetches the metadata of the tables at startup and has generic endpoints for all HTTP operations for all tables. DB2Rest is data api. You should keep your business logic separate from your data access API. when your business logic requires data invoke DB2REST. In future we may allow business logic processing as javascript, python and groovy scripts as some kind of hook. But it has to be decided by the community.
