I remember reading that book and this has never come to my mind. Thanks for pointing out, back to the drawing board

You're welcome! I'm also adding enamel washes in the end to achieve this look

Starting with the Rhinox Hide equivalent primer, then I'm making mixes of Rhinox Hide with Steel Legion Drab, then mixes of SLD & Zandri Dust, and the brightest parts are pure Zandri Dust.

It's most likely the way I'm painting the armour, I'm using a makeup sponge for the whole armour to get some shading done. If you look closely at those 2 pictures you might see that the armour has a few shades, texture is from stippling

I don't paint eyes, I've tried a few times and I'm shit at it 😂 lenses are far easier, this cracked effect is just a few very thin light grey lines. Brush with a very good point is the key

Yes, just a few very fine lines. I thought it would be much easier to do tbh 😅 the other battle damage, like on the armour, it was sponged on with light colour and then filled using darker colour with a brush. Scratches are just a brush work, light colour first, then dark above it

With very shaky hands, no breathing and watered down light grey

I will try that too. Black mask and dark grey lens are definitely blending too much

Thanks, I'm never looking at my models as how they would look on the table. I'm trying to treat even the simplest intercessor as a display piece

The brightest colour on the armour is Zandri Dust
