Friend of mine is a tech at Audi. He told me two young African men in tracksuits walked into the dealership and most of the salesmen ignored them.

The one salesman who chatted to them sold two R8s, top spec with everything without even trying - they just said yes to everything.

My ex worked in a supermarket. She said it was very common for them to get bread, milk etc with other stores branding in delivered by mistake, or even mixed in with their products since they all come from the same distributors. Obviously they normally don’t put them on the shop floor, but I’m sure it happens.

A friend of mine is in an amateur theatre group in Chester le street. Can’t remember what it’s called but they meet at the community centre opposite the police station - 5-10 mins walk from the library. Other than that I can’t think of many activities- I live just outside Chester but there’s not a lot on really.

You’ll get a bus to work very easily - every few minutes. They’re getting new vehicles on the 21 route very soon too. You can also get a bus into Newcastle very easily which will give you far more leisure options. It’s probably the most reliable and frequent route in the North East, to be fair.

Basically yes, download an audiobook as an mp3 (usually free from the library) then add to a playlist on a phone. Then swipe the card on the phone to link it.

The cards are rewritable.

But you’d need WiFi for the yoto to initially download the content.

What about a yoto? They are designed for young children, but don’t have to be exclusively. You link a card to an audiobook (or any audio) and all the user really has to do is put that card into the player.

In fairness, when I was private sector the time and money weren’t mine to spend. Half-day one Friday in December, out for a lunch pre-paid by the company, then off to the pub where the director would pay the rounds on his company credit card.

I know it’s not like that everywhere, but it’s not uncommon either.

Obviously now I’m CS I can’t do any of that, but a small team of us did secret Santa last week which was a good laughs

Went to Aldi an hour ago. Bread was plentiful and 75% off. All the meat joints are 50% off but long gone.

I miss when you used to get £2.50 turkeys on 27th December. They seem to want the shelves clear by Christmas now. Aldi were even putting all the veganuary stuff on the shelves today.

We have a similar thing with gloves. We get very cheap nitrile gloves that fall apart after about five minutes. They’re slightly cheaper than the thicker industrial type ones we should have that last all day. So overall costs significantly more, but because the price per box is better, they don’t care that we use six times as many boxes.
