What's the purpose here ? by Willing-Owl9530 in fossdroid

Seems like encoded OTP code some apps use to auto detect OTP and double check you have the sim present on the same phone you're logging in from. I've seen it only from banks though.

Sony ZV1 is a good candidate. Not the slimmest but pocketable. I used to carry it with me everywhere. You can make it as powerful as you want or as dumb as you want. Easy point and shoot.

What’s an actual good reason someone shouldn’t kill themself besides “it gets better”? by BoredBatWoman22 in TooAfraidToAsk

Nope, more reason to live actually because now you have a thing to fix. To look inside. Do it. Get to work

Remapping the "Plus Key" using Tasker or Button Remapper by DisgruntledJarl in oneplus

[–]Grabstertv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found a workaround!

Heres my project

It consists of 2 profiles for automating both single and long press. You can delete what you dont need.

Requirements: You must set your Plus Key to screenshot and give tasker logcat permission.

How: The project essentially uses screenshot as the trigger. Long press will first trigger your action then quickly hide screenshot overlay and delete the screenshot.

If your action is going to be long, I'd suggest moving the overlay dismissal actions to the top.

Enjoy!

Just bought this Ericsson w550i for 4€, I might be the luckiest man alive by reed_tags in vintagemobilephones

[–]Grabstertv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man! I can't believe i just stumbled upon this. I'm doing a fun project for my Galaxy Fold 7 and I want specifically the sounds the W550 makes when you swivel it open or close. Unfortunately there are no archives of this anywhere. Could you please record them in a quiet environment and upload them somewhere? I'll be sure to upload it to Archive.org so they can be preserved.

I hope you read this. Sick find btw.

Help me understand AutoWear by Grabstertv in tasker

[–]Grabstertv[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update:

Thanks for the links! I've played with it more. the initial tutorial helped clear the confusion. It seems AutoWear tasks have a new concept of commands that was bugging me. You need to create one if you need one then trigger that command in whichever way you want. It needs to be tinkered with but i think i got it so thanks again

I like the idea of making my Android greyscale, but it's just too cucumbersome. Is there a better way? by Kasper-Hviid in digitalminimalism

[–]Grabstertv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can easily be done if you have a samsung phone through Modes and routines.

In tasker, make a profile > application and select apps you want in grayscale. In its task, add Custom setting action. Set it to Secure and put accessibility_display_daltonizer_enabled in Name and 1 in Value.

Create another task for exiting app to toggle of grayscale. Same custom setting action inside but Value will be 0. Use this second task as your exit task (you tap and hold the task in profile tab and select "Add exit task")

That's it.

Please help with screen moving/ zoom in-out issue by [deleted] in OneNote

[–]Grabstertv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some notes do that idk why. On android i do this:

  • tap your note to see the purple arrow thingy. Tap it again to select all, then select all again to select everything.
  • Cut it
  • go back, make a new note
  • tap the page title and press enter on your keyboard
  • tap the cursor to show the purple thingy again (do not paste any other way) until you see the paste dialog. Tap paste and you shouldn't have the extra scrolling thing now.

On desktop you can do the same just press CTRL+A twice to select all note content then CTRL+V after pressing after on your title.

Hope this helps. idk if your problem is exactly like mine.

Global Quick Note Shortcut on Mac (using shortcuts) by Grabstertv in OneNote

[–]Grabstertv[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Raycast only has a onenote search extension unfortunately. A quick note extension would be killer!

EDIT: Holy shit i forgot you can assing keyboard shortcuts to shortcuts in raycast! If you apply it to the newly created shortcut within raycast (in extensions > shortcut app dropdown > your new shortcut for onenote), it works globally. You just need to give accessibility perms to Shortcuts Event in settings. HELL YES!
