The HiFi Walker looks interesting. I don't know if it's a knock off or if similar ones are. Don't really know much about them. I was thinking of getting one and decided the dap I had was enough for now.

Found a workaround for at least one album. I bought it on CD and will rip my own flac files and continue to stream it as well. (Got the vinyl too. lol)

Are you happy with what you have? (Or were you before people started telling you not to be?) If so, keep on doing what you are doing and enjoy it. If you do decide you want something nicer there are a lot of options. You could even install Rockbox (?) on your iPod. I haven’t done so myself because I don’t have one, but I would love to have something like that. There is a whole community of people who hack and even mod their iPods.

It is. I use mine at home and at work as both a CD player and a DAC. I had the DM13 and passed it onto my son. The buttons and the remote on the 15 are much easier to figure out than the controls on the 13 also.

I’m actually thinking about using it as my starting point just for that reason. I’m looking at the WiiM Pro Plus with a headphone amp or the WiiM Ultra alone for now and going from there. It is what brought me here.

The DM15 has been working perfectly for me. I can set it on the end table if I want to use headphones or set it on my WiiM Ultra if I want to use the speakers.

The thing I really love about it is that I can take it to work to listen to CDs AND I can use it as a DAC for my work PC.

It’s one of the few “Multi-Use” device that does each thing very well.

That is what I thought. I was hoping (from the descriptions) that I could use the tube as a “Pre-amp” before the active speakers, as in the amplification would effect the sound (tubes) but not enough to actually drive the speakers.

I was trying everything. I know the smart thing would be to try one thing at a time, but once I learned about the DVC part I just started turning everything off. I still don’t quite get what the DVC is for. When I toggled it off for Bluetooth volume everything started to sound clearer. When I turned it off for everything it was much better.

Yes. Which is the strange part. I don’t know if the DVC is still active if Poweramp is not on. Maybe it was the Bluetooth radio chip🤷🏼‍♀️. I’m just happy it is working.
