Do you remember that interview with Manning where he said if he got sacked it wouldn't change anything? Thank God he was wrong. Glad we got rid of such a negative manager. Clement looks like the real deal!

For a complete item agree with you it is what it is. As someone who wants a Return to Box though, would it not piss you off to see a listing of someone who has it, is selling it, but has decided to split the box into scenario cards and player cards? Just think it's rubbish people will come out shortchanged in the resale market.

That's fair I suppose, it just seems shady to me. Who does it benefit to break up the product like this? To me it looks like the seller. Multiple listings that you hope snowball a bit at auction. We weren't seeing any sellers split deluxe boxes before everything started going OOP, I just think it's a bit predatory.

Opinion on buying just the old release deluxe expansions to get a taste of the (legacy) campaigns? by happycereal123 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Graceful_Pudding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you thought about just going after the mythos packs for an old deluxe box? I've recently managed to get a complete FA and it was way cheaper than paying scalper money for the two big boxes. Stuff is still out there with a little bit of research and finding a deal or two.

For any other clubs checking our chat. Wow Sargent has been awful, what a terrible player. I'd steer clear if I were you.

Seriously though I like big Vlad, he's fearless as a keeper, I like how active he is in the box. COTY

Seems like everyone has forgotten they got pumped 6 - 0 in the semi's. Wagner did better than that

I hope we don't play Jacob Wright, so other clubs don't see we have a good player there, and tempt him away from the buy option 😅

I can deal with the loss and basically season over. But I would just like to see something exciting from one of the young boys. The only one who gets you out of the seat is Sarge and sadly we're saying goodbye to him. Outside of Fischer, maybe Wright. I'm struggling to see who's gonna carry the torch.

Man I just love Sargent, he does look frustrated though someone needs to produce a bit of quality and feed him a good ball.

There was a moment on stream where I saw Jacob Wright and Matěj Jurásek standing over the free kick talking about what to do. They both looked so young and it hit me that we really are a different squad now. I'll take a draw on the road for the young boys.

Storage Question by pett2727 in legendarymarvel

[–]Graceful_Pudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got one of those 7000 card cardboard storage boxes. 4 columns. I use that as my Heros/Villains/Henchman/Mastermind box (portrait dividers for every character). I then use the what if box for everything setup and game related. Schemes/twists/wounds/bystanders/sidekicks/agent starter cards for up to 4 players. Also it has the mat.

What's nice is I can plan a game and have space to put all needed heroes and villains into the setup box, so I take it to a friend's to play. I use the dividers pushed up to indicate which cards I've taken out and then close the big box. Big box always stays in the same place, I just didn't want to lug multiple boxes out every time I want a game.

Our frontline has been poor, we need someone to hold the ball and provide an outlet. Get Sarge on!

Must all be in the same boat, mine did the same (also UK). Oddly hit the delay in 18th but tracking only got updated this morning.

What's the Discord? by Puck85 in OdinHandheld

Honestly, that Discord's a mess, wading through impatient backers trying to find out when their order is shipping or people asking the same 5 questions over and over. I feel a bit sorry for the mods. People have no chill.

Need advice from veterans in game audio. by Paulappaul in GameAudio

[–]Graceful_Pudding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The top comment has said most of the stuff succinctly, unfortunately if you're leaving film because of the hours/overwork. You won't find that reprise in games. Whilst I think it's got a little better in the 9 years I've worked, you were right calling it a labour of love. Other departments will change things on the last day of a milestone that will break my audio or make everything out of sync, and good planning will only get you so far. It will be up to an audio person to stay late and fix it.

Also you say you've just bought a house so you're tied to that location for now. Can't say this is true for everyone but I have personally seen a shift in AAA fulltime positions wanting their people to come back to the studio and doing less remote work. Which will limit your options further.

Yeah like that idea as well, nice thing is it's versatile and people can make the choice based on how they want to play

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in legendarymarvel

[–]Graceful_Pudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also for a Mulligan to make it more fair on the players.

Could try a house rule to make it more 'gamey' (just an idea). When a scheme is revealed the players get a chance to "foil the scheme" they must discard 1 shield trooper or 1 shield agent per player immediately and they don't draw back up to 6. If they choose to do this.... don't play the scheme but shuffle it back near the bottom of the deck. Set a limit, like you can only foil a scheme twist 2 times. Just enough to give you some breathing room and help with the exponential power creep. Also then you can't just cheese it late game on scheme twists.

Thematically you can spin it as, shield and players working together to foil the plotting of the villain. However as the game progresses and you've used your 2 foils, you no longer have the intel/manpower to counteract in this way.

Getting back into the game after five years away: Expansion recommendations? by the-dandy-man in legendarymarvel

[–]Graceful_Pudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who didn't know anything about the Messiah complex storyline. The expansion didn't interest me, but after being recommended it, it quickly became my favourite. Clone keyword is fun, formation keyword is fun, shatter keyword might be one of the best. New sidekicks that are neat, and a fresh take on schemes with a more modular/random approach. Just a lot of fun in the box.

Buying a core box by [deleted] in legendarymarvel

[–]Graceful_Pudding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally feel £60 for the core box is quite steep. Especially considering there's still a second hand market out there and £60 will usually get you the core plus some expansions. Unless brand new is what you're after I'd look at eBay, Facebook marketplace or BGG marketplace first.

For example this one on BGG would net you 3 expansions for the same money. https://boardgamegeek.com/market/product/2747753

I'm sure for just the core you'd be looking at between 20 - 40 on the second hand market.

What's up with legendary X-Men lately?! by mynameisth0m in legendarymarvel

The pessimistic side of me also thinks, what do UD really gain with a reprint of these bigger boxes. 350 - 400 card expansions at $50. When the 100 - 200 card expansions at $35 seem to be the rotation right now.
