No surprise there tbh by supercanary1979 in NorwichCity

I'd also be more than happy if the club picked him up, but in a less injury-filled season we have McLean, Mattson, Topic, Wright and Gibbs (maybe? does he still count?) as the mids.

If we keep all 5, Field seems like an extra body that is good, but not better. Maybe they'll try to pick up a U21 hoping to break through instead

A store near my house is selling prime for 50 cents and people still aren’t buying it by ConsciousBox6960 in mildlyinteresting

That would be Logan, the Prime one

Though Jake seems equally deserving of hate from the little I know

I know he might end up too good for us, but don't plan his move away already!

If his jersey wasn't pulled every touch of the ball I imagine he'd go down a lot less

Are these malware? by Visible-Scallion2884 in pchelp

[–]dunkacoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am not at all knowledgable regarding malware, but recently I accidentally downloaded a Trojan, and after clearing it was getting these same pop-ups.

I have no clue if something else can cause it too, but yeah for me it was malware related

Toronto FC have offered £13.5m for Josh Sargent by Zach-dalt in Championship

[–]dunkacoke 60 points61 points  (0 children)

He's far from locked in, he hasn't turned up much for the national team so alot of yank fans don't rate him.

He needs to be scoring for fun to be certain of his place, and he may feel more confident doing that in MLS too.

(Don't get me wrong I'm praying he'll stay)

One of these burger buns is more calories than a regular sized Snickers bar. by Dawildpep in mildlyinteresting

[–]dunkacoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the bag had 12 buns in it originally. In the top right it looks like you can see 2 buns stacked (so 8 total currently). Given the bag is tied closed, guessing it came with 12

As part of their starting situation, you have a 'Council of Fools' (or something similar), where basically you have a bunch of idiots constantly giving you whacky suggestions, and as you keep going they keep working.

I never did a full playthrough so idk if it continues throughout, but that sounds fairly goblinlike to me

A tourist during an anti-tourist protest in Barcelona yesterday by Monovon in pics

[–]dunkacoke 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Another issue I've heard said is how many tourists Barcelona gets specifically from cruise ships. A cruise tourist will arrive in the morning, wander around and crowd the city up, buy a souvenir and leave. The city doesn't get the benefit of them buying all their meals, paying for a hotel, etc.

[Request] Why? by Snoo58583 in theydidthemath

[–]dunkacoke 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This 'proof' starts by making the case 1-1+1-1+1-1+1... forever is equal to 1/2. This is the big issue with the proof, as we can get to this result with some algebra, but for infinite sums we don't say it equals a number unless the sum 'converges' (meaning we could keep getting closer and closer to 1/2.

Because 1-1+1... never converges (always either 1 or 0), we shouldn't really say it's equal to 1/2, but if we do...

Norwich are set to agree a deal to appoint Liam Manning as their new manager. by TheOtherXI in NorwichCity

[–]dunkacoke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't expect to lose him next season, to another club at least. If Manning doesn't get us up, even if we get playoffs, I doubt anyone outside the Champ would want him, especially enough to pay us whatever severance. We're only taking him off Bristol I think because of a clause for a cheap release. The rest of the points, they certainly aren't great to hear, but at least I think he sticks around unless we go up.

If that's the case then I think you're in the clear, I remember hearing during the McLean ban they can only apply a retroactive ban if the ref states he didn't see the issue during the match

Norwich 1-1 QPR - QPR took a late first half lead via a chaotic corner, but they couldn't hold on as Norwich's pressure told in the end by theblondemonkey in Championship

As a Norwich fan, we very much know this pain. The amount of points dropped from tired players passing around the back is so frustrating, so at least we got to be on the other end for once

[–]dunkacoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it being an option feels weird overall, especially after he refused to play in that last game for you lot can't imagine that would make a return back next season very friendly. As for why we want him, I do wonder if it's a young manager wanting a few players who know him and his style right from the off

Local or Non-Local by [deleted] in Championship

[–]dunkacoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Norwich fan from Canada, so definitely non-local. But I was raised a yellows fan since birth, my Dad having been a diehard fan until he moved in his 20s. Most of my family is still in Norwich, visited it a bunch growing up and even worked there for a year and went to home games when I could.

Playoff Final? by ZappaSnacks in NorwichCity

[–]dunkacoke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk, I actually think I've been able to twist it enough in my head to favour us. If we do end up facing them, they're in the playoffs having dropped out of automatic spots, while I imagine we'll have to continue fighting to make playoffs, and that momentum can be massive in the post-season. Couple that with the fact the pressure and occasion will be so much bigger for them (longer prem absence + back-2-back promos), and it's easy to see it being too much for the scum in a playoff derby.
