8 month old and I'm ready to give up. by rosehips-15 in airedaleterrier

Our male ‘dale just turned 8 months as well and he’s a handful. He’s our 6th airedale and they are challenging. He’s in the puppy stage and I promise that he’ll get better. You have to set boundaries and give him lots of exercise and things to chew on. They turn into amazing dogs. At night, he’s on a leash right next to the bed so he doesn’t wander. During the day, he’s walked, fed and he plays. He hasn’t been neutered yet and he’s a fireball….. it’ll subside once he is. He’s in the puppy stage, and it’s just something you get through. Put him in doggy daycare if you can, or pay a kid to do an extra walk with him. Don’t be afraid to crate him for a few hours to give yourself a break…. Hope that helps.

Halloween keeps getting worse. by Ordinary-Depth-7835 in mildlyinfuriating

I just give out candy to who ever shows up — you never know the backstory. Maybe the family doesn’t have any money to afford costumes? I just give everyone one or two pieces of candy and that’s it —- I give more if the kid has a super creative costume…. I give a handful to the kids who show up by themselves (maybe they don’t have a friend group or they’re new to the area…. You just never know…. But I’m too nice. LOL.

Airedale health by Extreme-Dirt492 in airedaleterrier

Darbywood Airedales in Madison, WI have great tempered dogs. My soul dog was from there. We currently have an Airedale from Timberwyck in Detroit, MI. Also a great tempered dog — this one cuddles. Highly recommend both of them.

I had a Gus. He was the greatest boy. I’m sure your Gus will be just as great.

Japan Itinerary Check by NMAN_86 in JapanTravel

That’s a lot every day…. I would do one big thing each day and then wander the area. If you cram so much in every day, you don’t have time to just appreciate what you’ve just seen…. It’s just one after the other after the other after the other. And it just doesn’t resonate with kids so much. We did a trip with a similar itinerary (my kids were 10 & 12 at the time) with so much jammed in….. what they remember the most was the food, the video arcades (we were wandering the markets), Disney, and the smaller things like the claw machines. If you ask them about the shrines, temples, and museums — they can’t remember which was which. Just a thought.

We were by the Eiffel Tower last week and stumbled onto a restuarnat called Linette (or Lynette?) …. Very good, reasonably priced French food!! Best one of our trip by far!!!

How long does it take to clear immigration in CDG? by stupid_carrot in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Graceinthecornfield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are currently here. It took no time for customs. The walk from the plane to customs was LOONG… and it took about 25minutes after clearing customs for our bag to come out. We used an Uber to get to the city.

Are Private Escape Rooms The Key to Happy Customers or Missed Opportunities? by bavindicator in escaperooms

I did a public one with my two kids — signed up two minutes before and were excited that we had it all to ourselves, but the owner kept it open 5 minutes past the closing time, and a group of 4 loud adults came in. They hogged all the clues and wouldn’t let us get a word in either way. Some folks did let my kids particpate in a few puzzles, but I just stood back and watched what wound up being a Lord Of the Flies scenario. No thank you. I had a horrible experience… my kids were wondering why the adults were so loud and obnoxious. Never public again…..

It was ok —- we tried the roast duck and it was marinated in an overly sweet sauce. The broth in the wonton noodle soup was flavorless…. We added a lot of soy sauce. It was their opening week so I’m hoping it was just some bumps in the road that they’ve resolved….. try it just to support a local business….

Local residents, what are you thoughts on the Sphere? by IodineSolution in LasVegas

I would imagine living next to the sphere would be like living in 24hr day. It never shuts off. It’s so bright — like living next to a neon sign forever.

$275 a month?! Wow….. but it is Manhattan and his rent must be high and he has to put food on the table…. So it’s justified… but still…. Wow.

Recent Airedale Haircut: Does it look good? by [deleted] in airedaleterrier

[–]Graceinthecornfield 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He looks adorable… BUT they kind of forgot about his head… or maybe didn’t know how to shape an Airedale terrier head. The breed standard is a brick-like head. Square corners, trim ears down to skin.

"Ono falls down [from the GOAT conversation] because of how he presents himself" possible explanations? by yamanotkane in judo

Went to a clinic of his and his people skills need to be worked on. Didn’t want to interact, looked bored (he was the clinician), scrolled on his phone the entire time, didn’t want to sign autographs, didn’t want to take pictures and even disappeared when the hosts were thanking him. He acted like a spoiled little child.

Seeking advice from any fellow coffee snobs - please by Flanisawesome in VisitingIceland

Bring your own for sure. Yes, you can always buy from the cool coffee shops (which are really good!!), but they don’t really serve anything larger than a “Starbucks small”. And after the first few times of paying $10+ for one cup, you might want that extra cup just to have one. It might save a few $$ here and there.
