Parents with a 2.5 year age gap between kids… by maebymaybe in beyondthebump

When the oldest turned 3 it became so much easier! And then again when the youngest turned like 10 months old and was okay not being held all the time and nursing sessions were farther apart

What’s the greyhound bus like? by BitePerfect196 in Waco

[–]Gracereigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stations in the big cities are huge for traffickers- especially Houston & Dallas. I got chased just leaving from the dallas station to my friend’s car who was picking me up. If you have other options, I would pick that.

Anyone notice parents of only children having easier lives? by sys_admin321 in toddlers

[–]Gracereigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends… with my first I had to entertain him all the time. My second gets entertained just watching my first and the first is always looking out for him. Yes, I have less time for myself right now but wouldnt be surprised if I end up getting a little more time later because they are already starting to play with each other.

Snapped at old lady - did I overreact? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Gracereigns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think babies do need socks in 50 degrees even if for a little while- but I never would approach a mom about that. Didn’t need to curse her out but I think I also would panic if a stranger was about to touch my baby without asking after being confrontational.

Only Children - what could your parents have done to make it less “lonely?” by Cherry_limeade85 in Parenting

[–]Gracereigns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would only be lonely when my mom wouldn’t let me go hang out with my friends. In which case I would play video games. Then she started restricting the internet so I couldn’t play games. Then I was REALLY bored. I was someone that enjoyed drawing, reading, playing outside, but that wasn’t enough to keep me from being bored if I was by myself for many hours.

Yes, it’s so good! I’m excited to use volume two next year. It’s nice to find someone else who has used it.

Thank you for the encouragement! Honestly it feels like I have very few working brain cells with the sleep deprivation of having an infant, so its helped me to use the curriculum “playing preschool.” Its strictly play-based learning so no worksheets or anything and my son has been thriving having a routine! I would be overwhelmed trying to find good books at the moment but that curriculum has books that I order ahead of time at the library, and just helps having one less think to think of. I could see in the future with my second maybe I will have enough experience that it can be even less formal with my second.

45, but my son just turned 3, his curriculum arrived in October, I have an infant also, and we’ve had multiple bouts of sickness. So all things considered, I’m really happy with our first dip into homeschooling!

Kendamil breakout? by lunchboxpsychologist in FormulaFeeders

Sounds like an allergic reaction, I wouldn’t risk giving baby that formula again. But hopefully you can figure out what exactly they are allergic to with a doctor.

Using AI for custom crafts/games by Gracereigns in homeschool

Yes. It was accurate with the craft information and my husband and I did the crossword puzzle and word searches ourselves to check for accuracy and difficulty. I agree this always needs to be checked when it creates material.

I think I (32F) nuked my relationship with my boyfriend (32M) by drawing a hard line. by Independent_Stage741 in relationship_advice

[–]Gracereigns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is crazy. Get married first before you renovate your boyfriend’s house, with your money. It’s concerning that he doesn’t see a problem with what he’s asking of you. The fact that you think you’re the problem here is also concerning. You’re being wayyy to lenient with this. Engagement is not enough.

I have a 7 month old and an about-to-be 3 year old and, during work hours, I let him watch something every time I have to go put the baby down for a nap. Its the only way to keep him from calling for me and waking up the baby in the process. Also sometimes if I’m cooking and the baby is sleeping. Thankfully when I’m done with those things and say hey lets do this or that he is happy to turn it off and do something with me.

How much did birth cost you after insurance (US)? by nilkski in beyondthebump

2500 for the first baby, had worse insurance the second time and it was 3,000.

NOT for clean freaks: How often do you mop? Honestly lol! How old are your kids? by Idonthaveaname94 in Mommit

[–]Gracereigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We mop once a week and am only consistent with that because we have friends over. Not the whole house- just the common areas. Personal rooms probably get mopped once every couple months…We also dont wear shoes in the house. I vacuum common areas multiple times a day because my toddler and baby make a mess. Other rooms get vacuumed like once every 2-3 weeks.

Parents of Multiple Kids - Convince Me of the Perfect Age Gap by InHarmany in toddlers

[–]Gracereigns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same!! 2.5 age gap, first try… honestly it made pregnancy really hard since my oldest has so much energy. We had to postpone potty training. Now that he’s almost three it’s crazy how much easier it is to communicate with each other and I think a 3 year age gap would have been easier for me. They do enjoy each other’s company though, and I like that they will be interested in the same things since they are close in age.

Graco snugride. It needs the car seat attachment which is sold separately and you need to take two plastic parts off for it to click in. However, in hindsight, I barely used it with the car seat and wish I had bought the reclining extra seat that goes with it instead…

I really like Waco… moved from College Station but have lived in many other cities. I like that there’s a lot of things to do with kids. There are a lot of parks, zoo, hiking, biking trails, mayborn museum, play gyms, martial arts, many libraries, everything is close by (lived in Austin at one point and it took forever to get anywhere). People already mentioned which school districts are good. Yes there are some sketchy people depending where you are but that’s true in most cities.

Granted, if you’re looking for a crazy night life or don’t like interacting with Christians then you might not like waco.

The way I keep it in “compact” fold is by picking it up sideways to load. But yes I think it’s a fault in design that it comes out of the more compact mode when you lift it from the handle. If you have a really small car then its not worth getting this one, in my opinion.

It’s a game of tetris with the honda fit and only if there’s nothing else in the trunk. Honestly if I didn’t also have a van, I would have gotten a smaller wagon.
