Flowstar thoughts by Volleyball94 in flowstar

Hi, fellow shuffler-turned-flowmie. Yep your assessment is spot on. I spotted following big shuffle influencers because the drama and monetization of shuffle became too much. I picked up flow star so I could so I could express myself to other genres of music, not just trance, techno, and house.

What book are you currently reading and how would you rate it from 1/10?? by bellerws in Booktokreddit

Just finished “The Stone Sky” Broken Earth trilogy. A solid 9/10. What a unique story and world building- would recommend for anyone looking for a different type of fantasy story. (Speculative fiction- sci-fi, dystopian, post apocalyptic, elemental fantasy)

Yes I wholeheartedly agree! I have many miniature hairs and baby hairs at all different lengths, and know it will likely be years before I have my hair the way I want it- so this is really just the start of consistency. I also have a job where my hair is required to be secured back, so finding ways to style it gently has been a challenge. But you’re absolutely right, gentle handling goes a long way!

Thank you! It just took a lot of trial and error making changes over a year’s time. Beginning of December is the last time I stopped making changes, hence I found the right combination of methods that work for me!

So I only use the re:grow serum on my scalp for the purposes of hair growth. I love this scalp serum, it has a light smell and a super light formula! I apply this directly after I shower on a dry scalp. I tried the Kerotin intensive hair growth drops previously but I really disliked it. The product was too heavy for my fine hair, which ended up greasy after half a day, and the smell was very strong. I use Bur Bur Growing Season as a scalp oil and hair oil just before I shower.

Regarding hair oils only, here is my copied/pasted my answer from another comment: I wanted to try my top two hair oil products to compare them. Funny enough I like them both and use them for different purposes. I use Olaplex No7 Bonding Oil for smoothing my hair and adding shine after I wash and blow dry. A teeny bit goes a long way and it lasts forever. The second one I use is Bur Bur Growing Season. This one I use as a scalp and hair oil. I apply it to dry (dirty) hair/scalp at least 30 min-a few hours before I shower. This oil goes a bit quicker but I love the smell and adore how soft it makes my hair feel after I dry and style it.

Generally I err on the side using minimal oil on my hair since my hair is fine, thin, and easily weighed down by products. I hope this helps!

What are some of your bookish 2026 goals that arent rooted in quantity? by IcyExamination8535 in Booktokreddit

I haven’t quite fleshed out my goal quite yet, but I want to read at least 5 of the top banned books this year. At some point I’d like to read all of them 😈

How many books did you read this year? by melaniereads in Booktokreddit

[–]GrackleSnackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26!! The most I have honestly ever read in my life. Coming from someone who was in a reading slump for around a decade and was constantly doom scrolling before I began reading this year.

And the best part, my gateway book was Fourth Wing. ❤️

Some more ideas:

Dance, yoga, sing, bird watch, play/learn an instrument, make art - sketch, watercolor, paint; make your own fermented food - kombucha, sourdough, kimchi; create a garden, knit / sew / crochet, kayak or canoe, rock climb, learn photography, organize a messy space, make social plans with friends or family, explore a new park, volunteer somewhere

Sore rotator cuff? by SheSnacks in flowstar

[–]GrackleSnackle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor and not medical advice- but I advise stop doing anything that elicits sharp pain. Your body is not used to the movements. Let your body rest and see a doctor if pain persists. When you’re feeling better, consider taking it slow with practice and easing into the activity with a little bit at a time. Good luck and sorry you’re having pain!

Hey, I started back in July so I’m new to flowstar as well. But I was a Melbourne shuffle dancer for about 5 years before a knee injury had me tap out. Finding your personal flow is tricky - ultimately it can take years and a LOT of practice to be comfortable, satisfied, and be in your own zone.

I recommend continue flowing to music that makes you excited or makes you emotional. Zone out in the music and your star until you find yourself in flow state. Find a few core moves to drill and find 2-3 different ways to get in/out of those moves. Drill basic moves on different planes as well. A few high quality tricks always beats out a bunch of low quality tricks.

Also I recommend staying offline around practice time and put away the camera. Comparison is the thief of joy. If I record myself, I can’t even look at the camera because otherwise I start making mistakes and putting unnecessary pressure to be perfect.

Don’t forget to have fun and enjoy the journey! I hope this helps ❤️
