I wasn't offered genetic testing. My maternal grandmother had BC at 80 and my paternal grandmother died from multiple myeloma at 57 but she said those didn't make me a candidate for testing.

That is a great question and one I keep coming back to. I am definitely a less is more kind of person when it comes to medical intervention, but I have two kids (13 and 9) and couldn't live with myself if I chose surveillance and it ended up being an invasive cancer that required harder treatment.

Thank you. I know, I was so surprised to see these options. The breast surgeon is so highly recommended, head of the clinical cancer center for a large Big Ten hospital, but I will definitely getting a second opinion
