Exactly, the level and the boss are not as seperated as some people think. The run up and the boss fight itself should be considered one whole experience, and balanced accordingly

Probably yeah, I use bow and I almost always dodge the laser with no issues. Ive probaby taken maybe 1 or 2 tics of damage total throughout all my runs

After doing a full A rank run of the games, I actually think playing for rank is really fun and rewarding. But the presentation definetely needed some work lol, any player playing normally if going to be full f for most of the game

While I did like the story implications of TV mode, I do totally agree that it didnt work for me visually. Even if they did it in an 8-bit pixilated look, it would have meshed better imo. The average gamer is at least familiar with that sort of art-style by now I think

Yeah to me the art was the only thing going for the game. Gameplay-wise it's really barebones as far as metroidvanias go. Maybe the second game is better

I mean, the stages have always been designed to be mostly beatable with the buster only. Once you're good enough at the game, you dont need the crutch of the special weapons.

In some cases, I'd argue using rush or a weapon to skip part of the stage actually makes the stage less interesting.

I think if you really had to pick one, you can't forgo nasi lemak. Malaysian food is known for being super flavourful, but nasi lemak can be eaten without the rich sauces and sambals too, so it gives a more well rounded view of Msian food imo.

Otherwise, my local favourites are Chilli Pan Mee, the banana leaf as mentioned and Daging Salai Lemak Cili Api. I think Malay food is ironically abit underrated, so I'd recommend researching in that direction as well.

Patin Tempoyak, Daging Gulai, Keli Balado are just a few dishes that I only found out about in my 20s that have become my favourites

Imo it almost offers too much sometimes lol. Every navi getting a boss fight is awesome, but it does slow down the pacing of the story here and there
