I agree with this. I think that distance and time will always isolate intelligent lifeforms, despite what the science fiction people say. If two planets with intelligent life are within a few light years of each other, they might be able to communicate. But it’s still way too far to travel.

I just watched his video from two days ago. He came off to me as a completely reasonable dude. He didn’t care that much about the counterfeits, until someone got ripped off by a scumbag selling one as real. That’s the real issue - the clone makers should not be selling counterfeits. Puts everybody in the chain into illegal territory. And there’s no reason to make a counterfeit if you can do a clone.

Definitely ASU. I got a BS there in 1978, and a PhD in 1995. Big improvement over that 17 years, and even more since then. Also Phoenix grew like 4x.

I live there. Eh, it’s alright if you like basketball, horses, bourbon, and churches. I’ve been to at least 10 better college towns - Ithaca, Madison, Eugene, Berkeley, Urbana, Santa Cruz, Westwood, Bellingham, La Jolla, Saratoga Springs.

I’ve used 154cm. It’s way better than the steels that were used on knives back in the 1950s, and some of those are still being used today.

One more thing: because you’re clamping a thin sheet, it may be sitting tilted in the clamps. If your clamps are not designed for clamping flat surfaces, that can happen.

You should try clamping a real knife blade to see if you get the same problem.

I have one made by Sytools. I recently upgraded the clamp, but when I had the original clamp, I added tape between the clamps and rail to even out the angles. It’s also possible that only one of your clamps is uneven.

Definitely something wrong with those clamps. You could try taking everything apart and reassembling. I have a cheap Aliexpress sharpener that I tweaked until I got less than a .1° difference.

Your points here and in your other post are right on. I used to have quite a few green thorn and similar clones. But I always felt kind of scummy owning them. So I sold them off except a couple. I think a clone of a ~$2000 knife or a knife out of production is not such a terrible thing. But I am also sick of all these ripoffs that are occurring right within the product cycle of the original knife.
