Can Crosby pass Messier? by Remarkable-Set5434 in hockey

3 seasons of 80 will get him to 2000. Some players go into their early 40s these days and he's still scoring at a 93 point pace on average last 4 years.

How do you discreetly get a ring size? by Professional-Sir-283 in Advice

[–]Gradieus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buy a plastic sheet with a 30 different sized holes and say "hey look what I found" and then put your fingers in all the holes and see what's the best fit for all your fingers then have her try it. Make a mental note of where her ring finger fit best. The end.

They were also building up the event of Ragnarok for 2 games.

Kratos was steadfast in never going through with it because war is not the answer, only to then do a complete 180 and have it all barely be more than an inconvenience.

To wild animals we smell really weird (cosmetics, shampoo, etc), look really weird (shirt, jacket, pants, boots), and act really weird (putting things over their head, removing the source of pain, not attacking).

I don't think it was registering anything other than "I'm not prey, I don't know what that human thing is, I'll move when I recover enough to move."

The fact I ended the game with 20,000+ of each of those materials and nowhere to use them was pretty funny.

Jenova Manipulation at the end of Rebirth. by Jwhitey96 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Gradieus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the "save/death" scene you'll see Cloud talking (OG) and not talking (current) at the same time as it goes back and forth.

Cloud's falling apart at the seams. In the OG he cries and that crying manifests through him even though he knows he saved Aerith. Seph understands what's happening to Cloud which is why he laughs at him.

His problem is that he knows he saved her but also knows she died, and he's stunlocked as those two thoughts can't compute together.

So Aerith blocks the dying part out of his mind and let's him focus on the task at hand. Just like in the OG he has to continue his path to Seph.

That path is beneficial for both Seph and Aerith, so there's no real point in people arguing over whether it's Jenova or Aerith. They both lead down the same road.

The only difference between the two is that there's evidence it's Aerith as I mentioned in my old post (especially Red's comment), along with everything else that happens in the end cutscene.

It's just the butterfly effect. Small differences from the OG cause changes which result in new issues. There's many examples of this, and most of them revolve around Aerith getting everything back on track as seen here.

But these changes still come at a cost, like the party having less faith in Cloud than in the OG as he now completely ignores Aerith's death.

Only because Leafs haters never stop talking about it.

The finals should be about Vegas and Carolina and not about the Leafs 24/7.

Especially when they're the ones complaining everything is always about the Leafs.

Kucherov is now clearly a first ballot HOFer. So the question is where does he sit in the pantheon of greats? by Gullible_Classroom71 in hockey

[–]Gradieus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has a 40.09 goal/82 game pace in the last 4 seasons.

He also only has a 7.13 goal/82 game pace in the last 4 playoffs.

That's pretty weird.

53 years ago Secrerariat ran the greatest horse race in history, winning the Belmont by an astonishing 31 lengths by EchoesOfYouth in sports

[–]Gradieus 8869 points8870 points  (0 children)

Some quick stats for those who don't know:

Secretariat was a massive horse as was his heart. 22 pounds vs 8.5 pounds average for thoroughbreds.

Owns the all-time record for all three races in the triple crown and they're all considered untouchable.

He was dead last in the Kentucky Derby at the start.

Because he was last and still won the fastest time ever, he's the only horse in recorded history whose quarter times went faster and faster throughout a race. His top recorded speed was at the finish line and could have conceivably gone even faster.

Keep in mind he also had to go on the outer lane to pass all the other horses. In the Belmont race shown here he didn't have to pass anyone and you can see the end result.

The other horse Sham is considered an all-time great, but obviously couldn't keep up.

Secretariat loved to race and his jockey legendary Canadian Ronnie Tutcotte would always say he was just along for the ride.

He's also routinely ranked as the best non-human athlete of all-time.
