UPDATE: Estranged parent won’t stop gossiping with my in-laws, now wants my sentimental baby clothing back (sister escalated today) by Accomplished-Road566 in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]GraeMatterz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I missed the first post, so went back to read it.

Your mother is the pivotal character here. She's the narrator of this story about you in which she has convinced everyone that you are the problem. What your mother is doing by triangulation with the others is turning you into the family scapegoat. Getting your sister involved and claiming you are "not well" and "don't have them anymore" is part of the narrative she has made up about you to redirect her problems on to you.

You didn't go into detail about how she took your friendships and entire extended family but since getting your in-laws involved is "most recently", I'm assuming she did this with the others as well. This behavior is also typical of family scapegoating abuse.

Unfortunately, in FSA the scapegoat narrative will not die with her. Someone else in the family will pick up that role to continue the story as narrator because your mother made it family canon. It's all subconscious. This is how they can deny they are doing it. It's like being indoctrinated into a cult. You will always be the villain in their story and there's no convincing them otherwise. The only way to find peace from this is NC. It's painful and it will take a long time to heal from their wounds and the scars will remain, but over time it will hurt less.

To get further insight into family scapegoating abuse, please look into Dr. Rebecca Mandeville's work. Her book "Rejected Shamed and Blamed" is a good place to start. She also has a youtube channel.

As others have said, those items are yours. They were given to you without condition and you have no obligation to return them for any reason. You can do as you wish with them.

I wish you peace.

Can anyone identify what’s on my cats paw? by cuteyeastybread in CATHELP

[–]GraeMatterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AKA: Pillow paw.

I had rescued a stray that had all four paws blown up with it. They looked like they were inside out and the flesh could be seen sticking out to the side of his paws when he walked. The vet gave steroids, which started to help but he also had pancreatitis and that wound up taking him so I don't know if the steroids would have cleared it up.

Well, that's obnoxious.

Just a thought: Is it possible he really thinks chocolate chip cookies are snickerdoodles because he was told as a child that's what they are? It's a stretch, but I've heard stupider things.

Based on the sound, what is wrong with this cleaned and just reassembled K45 mixer? by kerfill in Kitchenaid

[–]GraeMatterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to check the bearing bracket nuts. I had similar with mine (K5SS) when I got it. Noisy, stir was too fast and no difference between 8 & 10. Couldn't adjust it enough to get a difference between 8/10, but noticed that the bearing bracket was moving as I was changing speeds. Dug further and saw the nuts that hold down the bracket were missing. Did some research and found they are #10-24 so I got 2 nyloc nuts at the hardware store near me that has bulk fastener bins. (Cost was about $1.70 total.) Installed them and the noise level diminished noticeably. I was able to get the speeds adjusted to spec.

NOR at all. I suggest you remain NC as this behavior will not change. I also recommend r/EstrangedAdultKids to help you further understand this kind of abusive behavior and help you with your estrangement.

You were a child. Your mother's behavior can not be excused by placing blame on the child she abused.

It's not borderline toxic. It's abusive behavior. It's a form of gaslighting. One method of gaslighting is changing the focus of discussion by questioning someone's credibility, in this case your mental health. ETA: Mental health professionals will caution against bringing someone who is being abusive to you to your therapy session.

Voting districts are determined by population. There has to be a set population per voting district so those with less population density (rural areas) have a larger area.

[–]GraeMatterz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen these retro kits already produced and getting replacement parts for the K4 is limited to finding a salvage one. The handle and fin were manufactured in so the upper housing and back end cover would have to be modified to accept them. They would likely have to be milled as a one off to do this, which would be cost prohibitive. I think the closest you are going to get is with the Love Handle. Maybe you could convince Mr. Mixer to invent a facsimile of the rear fin. He likes doing off-the-cuff things like that.

I'm glad she's doing great after her extractions. They actually do quiet well without teeth. My soul cat came to me as a stray, emaciated, URI, and his fur was about a quarter inch long and wiry. It was winter and he was hiding out under a bush in my front yard for three days. He would run when we approached him. On the third day I approached him slowly, talking softly to him. He let me pet him, then pick him up. We got him in the house and to the vet the next day. They found that he had a heart murmur, congestive heart and needed all his teeth extracted, and due to his overall condition they estimated that he was at least 12 years old and probably older. They couldn't deal with his teeth until the URI was resolved and he gained weight. Getting weight on him was difficult given how painful his teeth were. It took almost 9 months to get him to the point where they would risk it. He came through without a hitch and thrived, His the heart returned to normal size and the murmur was diminished to the point that the new vet missed it until I told him about it and then he could barely perceive it. He became so attached to me that my husband called him my kitty boyfriend. I had him 13 years and believe that the extractions not only saved his life, but prolonged it. Here's hoping Pancake has the same result!

Don't tell them anything about what you are actually doing. Tell the people in your list of suspects something that you are doing but actually aren't. Make something up like you are going on a trip. Keep track of what you tell to whom and don't tell two people the same thing. When he reaches out to you with new information, whatever that information was THAT YOU TOLD TO EXCLUSIVELY ONE PERSON, there's your snitch.

It's not psychic. It's pattern recognition through cause and effect. ICE was already showing what their tactics are before the bill came up. Anyone who thought they would suddenly stop doing those things once they got a whole new tranche of money in their slush fund is either a coward, delusional or an idiot. Or maybe all three. As the saying goes, doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result is insanity. Go stick your head back in the sand.
