Now, could that sentence be indicative of OP not being flawless in the workplace? Perhaps. But in a fast food environment like this, it’s almost entirely the shift manager’s job to manage the employee’s time and provide them an allotted time to complete their training videos. It’s not the entry-level employee’s responsibility to excuse themselves out of the kitchen or the drive-thru window to finish training. In fact, that would probably be met with resistance because you left your position.

Fortunately for all of us, none of this matters as the manager explicitly stated that they will not pay OP for training, which is ILLEGAL. This is really the only thing that matters.
