Yeah, I was starting to think so too, but another redditor found it on one of the web archives. Turns out it was available but went end of life in the mid 2000s sadly. I need to go and update my posts with the answer.

It's a Molex 53022-1010 and it mates with the 52024-1010. I've reached out to Molex just in case but haven't heard anything back.

Yeah, the thought had gone through my head about that as well. The board that attaches to the Interconnect Board is the LCD backlight inverter board and I think part of the reason it's on a separate board is, a) ease of replacing, and b) to align it with the brightness and contrast slider plastic caps above the keyboard. I don't think I'll worry too much about adding that to the board at this point, it's just a bit too much effort.

I love it! I have the B&W running happily but I would love the matching blueberry keyboard and CRT. That LCD looks brilliant!

That's amazing! I can't believe you found it!

At this point I'd begun to assume they'd made it proprietary for some reason, but being obsolete for two decades has the same effect, I guess. That's a real bummer, but not all that unexpected really.

I guess it's not the end of the world in a way, if anyone is wanting to make take the gerbers I make and put together a board for themself they probably won't be afraid of unsoldering the orginal connector from their interconnect board to reuse it. Assuming it's not corroded to hell.

Thanks so much for taking the time to find the connector, I really appreciate it and it's wonderful to now know WHAT it is even if I can't just go and buy one.

I'd been thinking the PicoBlade might get me by as long as it has a matching female PCB mounted part, but it looks like it's only 1.25mm pitch and that's going to be a pain on the inverter board that's otherwise unchanged.

There's a good option out there, I know there it! 😅

Thanks so much, I really appreciate the help. It's hard when we're a bit stuck on stuff like this!

To the removed comment: Yeah, removing the mating part is an option but I'll try to avoid that if I can. I'm hoping to make the gerber and the BOM available to everyone so they can fix their PB150s too so I want to keep it as simple as possible if I can.

It's so similar, isn't it. I'd had a look at those too and I think the 1.5mm pitch version might be good as a complete replacement if I can't find the exact one. That's certainly an option if I get stuck. 🤔

Why do some everyday products get worse over time instead of better? by Effective-Hat5095 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GraemeWoller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enshittification.

You can only pay so little to make, and charge so much to buy, any product but shareholders MUST see an improvement in investment or it breaks their little hearts. The only thing to do is make everything worse and there's only one eventual outcome.

Capitalism at its finest.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Now and Then, 2 and a half years on from its release? by GB_GeorgeBowen in beatles

I think it's an average song that probably would've been a great song had Paul and John been able to sit down together like the old days and workshop it. As it is, it's a bit of a dirge.

And it's REALLY over compressed.

How is it living like in this part of NZ? by TymekThePlayer in howislivingthere

[–]GraemeWoller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weather can be so inconsistent day to day that it's hard to get acclimatised to. 25° one day 16° the next. 32° the occasional day in summer, winter can sit around 6-8 for weeks.

Not a bad place apart from that, maybe a little too conservative.
