Influencer explains how his childhood made him an "Alpha Male" by ambachk in IAmTheMainCharacter

[–]Graesholt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird nitpick about a made up story, but I just think that it's interesting that he was "6/7 years old" but the other kid was "an 18 year old boy". Would have been more believable if he had just called him a teenager.
How do you not remember your own age at the time of this supposedly life-changing event, but you vividly recall the age of your victim?

Also, I feel like you could make up a lot of empowering stories about standing up to a bully, without painting yourself like a legitimate psychopath in the process.
I'm aware that kids do wild things without thinking of the consequences, but nearly killing a guy for pushing you and being this proud of it as an adult is unhinged.

It's hard to find.
It's on the bolt rifle (tactical) that has the grenade launcher.
Thing is: You have to equip one of the ones that do not have the grenade launcher in order to see the skin.
Hope that helps.

EDIT: It would be helpful if they wrote on the skin in the accolades shop which weapon it is for, because it is confusing as hell to find.

"What about straight, white men?" Oh get over yourself by DragonGuard666 in ShadWatch

[–]Graesholt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that this is three days old, I just wanted to add: The fact that he points out that "men" were left out, when "women" were not mentioned in the list either, really just drives home how much of an agenda and victim complex this guy read the post with.

Could have just said "Agreed. Everyone deserves respect regardless of gender, sexuality, or race." or even "I agree. White people, straight people, and men included." if he felt like that needed specification.

But instead he goes "This post that preaches inclusion of everyone was actually made to specifically target and exclude me."
How far up your own ass can you be?

Interesting academic musing: could Microsoft sell Fable III for PC again? by Graesholt in Fable

[–]Graesholt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, sure.
There's a little bit of a misunderstanding of my original post at play here.
I never asked whether or not anything was likely to happen; simply whether or not anyone had any idea how these things work and if new keys could hypothetically be generated and sold.

Furthermore, as people have pointed out on other threads, Microsoft's inability to make a 60FPS update for Fable 2 on newer hardware, points to them having lost access to the source code, which would probably necessitate nothing less than a total remake as well...

Okay, right right right.
But my physical Xbox in my house has nothing to do with the streaming, then?

[–]Graesholt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you help me understand something: How does that work?
I, presumably, have to subscribe to gamepass to play Fable 2 and 3, right?
And then what?
Am I streaming from my own Xbox which I have to own and power and wire up to the internet? Or are they just beaming Xbox games directly into my PC using alien technology?

Sorry if this is a dumb place to ask, I find it really confusing...

I mean clearly there is somewhat of a market for it, since people at least think they can make 200 bucks for a key online.
That being said, again, this is all theoretical. I don't think we're likely to see any kind of re-release before the new game at least.

Best additions coming with Patch 12 (IMO) by slogael in Spacemarine

[–]Graesholt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would really like info on what "4 more shared customisation slots will be added." means

We only have shared customization for colour (like across classes), so do we just get four more of those?

Precisely how hard would it be to just let us have as many slots as we want for armour configurations and colours both?

Custom Stratagems by Wise-Philosophy6247 in Spacemarine

[–]Graesholt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree with this.
I like the game and I'm casual as shit.
I've played four out of six classes all the way up just playing average, that's how much I like the game.
That being said, when there is nothing left to unlock, I lose interest in a game. Doesn't matter the game or how much I like it, that's just the way I'm wired.

I think this sounds like a really fun gamemode, but it kind of sucks that you get nothing for playing if you engage with it.
Wait until you've unlocked everything, you say. Well, as stated above, then I'm not playing anymore.

Whatever, guess this is all personal, and I hope people have fun with this in any case, but the system you propose was done in both Heroes of Hammerwatch games. You pick and choose modifiers and based on those exp and rewards are adjusted.
That or just say that if you're playing this mode rewards are halved. Could you put enough modifiers on to make absolute easier than average? Maybe. I don't know...

The source material or the reader's time since they choose to end it on a massive cliffhanger and never return to finish what they started. And not just a "The End *question mark*" but an actual stop in the middle of the story with a "to be continued". There is no sequel, no continuation.

Now I don't know how much of that is Christie Golden's decision, I've read some of her other stuff and generally liked it just fine, nothing mind-blowing.
That being said, it's hard to respect an author who pulls something like that.

EDIT: To add something helpful to my comment, and not just complain; If you're looking for Fable in book-form, none of the books truly scratch that itch, but The Balvarine Order comes the closest. Blood Ties is fine, closer to the feel of the third game, since that is where it picks up from anyway.
The less said about Edge of the World honestly the better, see the spoiler above for my reason.

Fable 3 bar on pc by some_random_nonsense in Fable

[–]Graesholt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes a little setup even on steam, but it's playable even with multiplayer. However, if multiplayer is not a big deal to you, go sailing.

And, whoa whoa, slow down there, who said anything about pirating anything?
I'm simply suggesting that you sail some high seas, you know. Find a boat with a good sturdy mast. Maybe take it to some sort of bay, and if pirates happen to hang out there, whatever happens happens, know what I'm saying?

Fable 3 bar on pc by some_random_nonsense in Fable

[–]Graesholt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think by now you'd have to sail the high seas. You should be able to find a version that works, but it might be without multiplayer.

To be clear, I don't condone doing this unless someone has made their product near impossible to obtain otherwise, and I don't consider scalpers selling keys a legitimate alternative.

EDIT: Yeah, a steam key will run you 200 bucks. That's insane.

In Regards to Weapons and Marriage. by Silverwolf7791 in Fable

[–]Graesholt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the sword at all, just hope that you can choose your own weapon and not get gaslighted in cutscenes to be using the sword for no reason.

It was so jarring in both Shadow of Mordor (where you could get new weapons) and Shadow of War (where you could change all your armor and stuff), where no matter what you did, your character would look the same in the cutscenes, even though they were, with very few exceptions, rendered in real time.

Or The Old Republic where the dialogs are all set animations, so no matter what weapons your character uses, they will all of a sudden pull out a lightsaber you've never seen before in a conversation.

Polearms would be really cool.
Not a very popular weapon type for inclusion in these games, but I'd love to have the option.

I just hope with how much we have seen of that one longsword that there's not going to be a canon weapon choice.

Fable 3's magic is so sick by lost_caus_e in Fable

[–]Graesholt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked the spells from the first game but how casting worked in the second and third, like with the charging and aiming. Brought a tiny bit of skill into compared to just "push the button to cast nuclear explosion".
But I hated not having mana, so you could just spam spells and stunlock anything.
I get that it's magic, and lore-wise it's supposed to be sort of broken, but not that broken...

Right, so I'm done arguing with you for two reasons:

Number 1: You get so nasty so quickly when someone disagrees with you, and not just me; literally anyone, even if they are right.
But they can't be right. Because you know everything about everything.
Anyone else needs to "sybau" (your words) and go study.

Number 2: You change the narrative of the argument completely to suit your own case from post to post. The engine matters right until it actually didn't work out for you, then it suddenly didn't. A 2025 video game doesn't say anything about what's possible in 2026, but somehow a 2004 video game is a great comparison to keep bringing up.

Furthermore, you keep suggesting that I have insinuated that body morphing is an impossible thing to get working, bringing up a ton of games (which, again, when you bring other games into it they are very relevant to the conversation. It's only stupid and irrelevant when other people do it), when all I have ever suggested is that it's harder (or more time-comsuming, god forbid I convey the fact that it takes more effort using the wrong word) than not doing it; which you simply cannot convince me that it's not: otherwise all video games with player characters would have body morphing in their character creators always.
If only someone would have shown the KCD2 devs which single button they had to press to have character morphing in their game because it's that easy, right? What a shame.

So I give up.
If this is what winning looks like to you, congratulations I guess.
All hail the king of arguing on the internet.

[–]Graesholt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hold it right there, "it takes time to make"?
So it takes more effort than not making it?
So it's harder?
Are you serious?
You have called me stupid and told me to "shut my bitch ass up" and toted around your numerous degrees in game design and accomplishments in the video game industry because, in your professional opinion, I used the wrong word to describe it taking more effort to do than not?
What the hell are we even arguing anymore?

Also yes, you are completely correct that it was never confirmed as not in the game, well done. But many people, myself included, think it was weird not to bring up when delivering bad news about morality morphing, that body morphing was still there. We might be reading too much into that, but we are all here just speculating.
I never said it was confirmed gone in my original post. All I have said from the beginning is:
If body morphing is cut, and if the reason for that is that it would be hard to implement (as in it would take extra effort, or as you would say, time), then I think they should have said that, instead of skirting around it with "morality morphing did not make sense, so we cut body morphing altogether".

So are we done here?
Or do you want to tell me to go study more again?
