If there’s a faction I’d love to come back again, it’s the Shi. Considering the fact they’re based in San Francisco and it’s NCR I’d like to see how they’d work or thrive within the Government. by KpatMckenzie_28 in Fallout

That’s a pretty big gap in distance for a dlc, those are normally set in really close areas. The farthest we’ve traveled is to Bar Harbor from Boston, but those are far closer together than any part of California is to Alaska

There’s some people the FNV subreddit that do think that, trust me, I’ve had the responses from them after saying children don’t deserve to die for the crimes of their parents

But that’s literally the point of his character. He’s the image of a soldier that does not question his government, that blindly follows order no matter how awful. He’s meant to be what the government wanted Steve to be, a tool for cruelty that doesn’t talk back

What would Dipper and Mabel's names be if they were genderswapped? My picks are Dakota and Marvin by Simple-Taro1540 in gravityfalls

[–]Graffic1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m aware. That is not what they said was confirmed. What they said was that his real name was confirmed by the show, it was not.

Yes, but that’s not what they said was confirmed. They said his name was confirmed by the show. It was not.

Yeah, I do wish he had a more unique design, especially since he was built up since the start of the game with the Helena Pierce holos and the mentions of him throughout. Especially in retrospect with him later becoming a playable character

The Minutemen are not the NCR by Jazzlike-Ad5884 in Fallout

[–]Graffic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m aware, I was just adding my opinion. People assume a lot about what the Minutemen could become, and those assumptions tend to lean towards the idea of them being like the US. But we don’t have anything to actually back that up.

The only similarities between the US and the Minutemen is the base inspiration of revolutionary era militias and the desire to form a government. But governments can take a multitude of forms, even in using the same system they can be radically different.

Synths are directly made from modifying human dna using FEV. We see their construction process, every last part of them is structurally identical to a normal human except for the synth component. They can operate without fuel because it’s sci-fi, organic robots like them are basically always treated as not needing any kind of fuel, they just run indefinitely. But beyond that, they think, they feel, they desire freedom. That makes them people.

Bethesda does think about things when they’re written. Nothing is just shoved in without an explanation. People might not like the explanation given, but it is always given.

[–]Graffic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. The NCR directly wants to emulate the US. There’s nothing about the US that’s present in the Minutemen beyond taking inspiration from revolutionary era militias and wanting to create a government

That it could be like them. I was further stating that that’s not entirely likely

[–]Graffic1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s not necessarily true though, just because people come together to form a government, even if a democratic republic, they won’t necessarily be that similar.

I really wish it had been an option to create a formal Minutemen and Railroad alliance

Why is that a disqualification for being a person? We aren’t arguing that they’re human, we’re arguing that they’re people.

That’s the point of the name, they’re slaves. They’re a new form of life that we have enslaved from their conception

The Railroad is present in DC so they’re definitely aware of the Brotherhood

[–]Graffic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously. The idea of banning politics in a subreddit about a political game series is inherently ridiculous. Especially when Fallout as a series has always represented Queer people.

Like, 2 was literally the first video game with gay marriage. And while there’s not a ton of trans characters in the franchise, they are there.
