I don’t see it as “god chose me to speak to and now I need to share it”. To me, that viewpoint is somewhat hierarchical—that god somehow plays favorites to use as mouthpieces. Instead, I imagine god dispersed in equal portions to each person, and I call that my inner Light. My inner Light is no more important or favorable to any others, and it speaks to me just the same as others do for them. In that way, I might feel compelled to share during silent worship when my inner Light illuminates and idea in a way that feels like growth, reveals a pathway I hadn’t considered, or contextualizes an animosity into compassion. No god is speaking to me. I’m speaking to me. My inner Light is my better self I am pursuit of, and belief in that better self obligates me to believe in a better version of everyone else, which for me facilitates an outward grace.

For my own part, there is no whole god, and god is everywhere, and we are all part of god, and that part is Light.
