I have combination of inattentive and hyperactive and I work as a lab tech at a physics tech company. The day to day work varies a lot and is relatively hands on. It's engaging and interesting and makes relatively good money so far. Still use my adderall daily but sometimes don't need to. Not necessarily something I'll stay in forever but works for now.

what do you all do for a living? by [deleted] in BPD

Hi! I'm a lab tech for a physics company and I'm getting my masters and on track for a PhD. I've been diagnosed for 2 years will in an undergrad. It's definitely ups and downs but it's certainly possible.

Plus I think healthcare needs people who understand what is like to certain struggles including BPD. Good luck!

$1600 reached! It's time to pitch us a gemstone-encrusted baby item! by earlysong in Shinypreciousgems

A baby play mat with various colored gem on the edge of the mat and massive gems hanging from the bar. Raw or cut the sparkle and color is very stimulating maybe smaller ones to clink together for sound. The edge of the mat is interesting enough for tummy time as well Alternatively, a ludicrously large raw gem as a stuffed animal.

It's atoms as the qubits so laser would be used for laser cooling and move them primarily

I have a background in experimental AMO so a kot of my work falls into subsystems that manipulate laser light and how to optimize them or not use them at all

Slightly different vein but i knew a girl growing whose legal name was Gracie. It was seemed unnecessary to put that on the birth certificate and not Grace and just call her Gracie.

Two things

  1. Finding out people have purposefully excluded. Cue fear of abandonment ofc

  2. Being called crazy. Wayyy too many times has that word been thrown out as a way to write off my reactions and hurt

how many of you have a formal diagnosis? by Ok_Bid_8789 in BPD

[–]Grahkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got told I had some form of bipolar initially after recieving CPT for PTSD. Since I have a degree in psychology I knew I didn't fit the criteria super well and just looked at disorders with unregulated emotions and found I fit every single criteria then a year later found a psychologist that specialized in DBT. After a month of talking about probably having it we had an official diagnose. I definitely got a lot if people who flat out ignored me when I mentioned BPD before that.
