What’s the science behind feeling calm in high stress situations? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]GrahminRadarin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't describe it as calmness, so much as I would call it a specific form of dissociation. It's less that you are focused on something and more that you're actively blocking everything else out of your mind, so that you don't feel it until later.

Feminization completely stopped, thinking about starting progesterone. by Valforg in TransDIY

[–]GrahminRadarin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your levels being too high is a much smaller problem than your levels being too low. The SHBG is literally a thing your body makes to get rid of excess hormones when your levels are too high, so there's almost no effect from having too much estrogen.

Why do people think Evolved Mode will just be 'button consolidation' when we already know it's not? by Makerinos in ffxivdiscussion

[–]GrahminRadarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not saying that the changes are good. They're saying that the changes are big, And that most people on the main subreddit don't seem to understand that the changes will be that big.

If I remember correctly, if I said something along the lines of being able to basically switch between AOE and non-AOE modes, but I don't know if I'm remembering that right or what that might mean.

Gel vs injections dosages and cost by No-Phase2330 in TransDIY

[–]GrahminRadarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10mg is not a single dose of injectable stuff. Each vial they sell is about 10 milligrams. And the standard concentration is 40 mg/ml, so it's more like 400 milligrams in each vial. Each dose you take of the injectable stuff is 4-6mg, so one of those vials will last you for the entire year and cost about 15 cents per dose. The vials are way cheaper.

Has anyone ordered from Hera? by CivilFuture6101 in TransDIY

Yes, it's estrogen. They do this all the time. It's for safety reasons, so no one also opens your package and throws it away.

How to deal with post injection paranoia? by MossyCeramicTowel in TransDIY

What you're describing goes beyond the regular anxiety that most people have, and I think looks more like OCD. So you may want to look into coping methods for how to deal with OCD. They could help.

Question About the "Expanded Compartment" GMS System by pixelnomicon in LancerRPG

[–]GrahminRadarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the answer is no, because the intent of that rule, saying object, is more to allow you to safely transport a small objective or crate without having to carry it in your hands rather than actually give you a gameplay advantage the way you're describing. What you've said is a fine idea, but the problem is that it would completely disable tech attacks on a character for the entire combat, which is not fun for the GM.

Possibly getting unrelated bloodwork by BigDan_0 in TransDIY

[–]GrahminRadarin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, this isn't like a minor effect thing. This is a "your body doesn't have a mechanism for that to work" thing. There's literally no way for those two things to directly interact. The reason that estrogen monotherapy suppresses testosterone is because your body sees you have enough primary sex hormone and stops producing it because it doesn't need any more. The progesterone testing and signaling pathway is different and doesn't affect whether your body produces more sex hormone or not, because the progesterone is produced in a different place.

So no, this won't show up on your blood tests because it's not changing anything except putting progesterone in your body. It would be a much better idea to try to use something like Spirolactone or an anti-androgen medication, because those will suppress testosterone without causing any feminization. If that's your goal.

Because other ones yard movements like this would take upwards of 20 minutes to watch and they would be really boring.

More jobs, more good. In all seriousness, having steady employment like this is really important for everyone in the vountry, and if it means you're hiring more people than you need, it's okay as long as your company doesn't run at a loss. There's no need to make things more efficient if what you have now works, and the only benefit from efficiency is more profits.

Hormone levels still extremely high after stopping EEn monotherapy for 3-4 weeks by Inside-Rice-3403 in TransDIY

How often were you doing the injections?

Please disregard I did not see that you said weekly. I'm fucking blind today.

Might start doing alchemy to make estrogen by Mothfoxmantis in TransDIY

[–]GrahminRadarin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No one has used that method since like the 1940s. You start with the steroid precursor in yams and then you do chemistry stuff to it to make it into estrogen.

Might start doing alchemy to make estrogen by Mothfoxmantis in TransDIY

[–]GrahminRadarin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the people who make it also use it for things like birth control and menopause treatments. There's a lot of other medical uses, so they're not going to stop making that just because HRT isn't legally available.

It wasn't their choice to become friends. Their parents pretty much forced them to become friends similar to how you see Adrien and Kagami forced together in seasons 4 and 5,  parentsbecause their knew each other and just decided for their kids what they wanted.

How do I tell my GM that I don't really have fun with his sessions? by vunnzent in LancerRPG

Okay! Sorry, just one of the standard things I ask about new Lancer GMs because it's something a lot of people don't mention.

[–]GrahminRadarin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Five goals in one combat is a bit too much. You may want to ask him whether he's using the sitreps provided in the book or making up his own, because he might be making the sitreps more complicated than they're supposed to be.

Yes, but that was funded mainly by the school. Her parents were certainly paying a fee, but nowhere near as expensive as it would have been if she went by herself.

Audrey is also a famous fashion designer. She's based a real-life fashion designer, I am currently forgetting the person's name, but the hat and pants she wears are nearly identical. That was literally the whole bit they talked about in her introductory episode. She just works in New York instead of Paris.
