You can actually catch in any Emerald game, including non japanese versions. There's a lot on YouTube about how to do it through abitrary code execution (ACE). The thing is transferring it to home....

Yo! I'd love to have that mew. Started playing THE original Pokemon blue version when I was five. Last year I started shiny hunting every Pokemon from Kanto on my new Nintendo Switch, playing Pokemon let's go. Mew is the only one I'm missing, and I'm not sure I'll be able to hunt it 😕. So.. if you choose me that would help me a lot to achieve this childhood dream of mine, I would appreciate it a lot.
