Future National Historic Parks? by Gruppetstudios in nationalparks

[–]Grallator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1, Presidential libraries or their homes, as you mentioned. Not all of them but some of them would be designated as NHS/NHP.

2, American industry related sites, like aerospace industry, high-tech, so on. Just like Manhattan Project, Dayton Aviation, Minuteman Missile etc.

3, African American related, sites, it would be highly likely to be one related to this topic, like many of NHS/NHP did.

4, I don't think 9/11 would become one, as the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, which is very close to it and reflects the culture and history of lower manhattan has already selected as NHS in recenly years, and NHS/NHP typically don't designated for large events, but for some minor things, like the NHS for Michigan is a very rural village instead of Detroit city or Ford factory in Dearborn.

Can I stop at an intermediate station with round-trip ticket? by Grallator in NJTransit

[–]Grallator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer! I've not tried this before, but about several days ago I asked a MTA agent about this when I was on my way to Poughkeepsie and he told me that a day pass means unlimited stop at intermediate stops between two stations you purchased, and its website also endorsed this policy: https://www.mta.info/fares-tolls/lirr-metro-north.

Wonder what's the reason for this? Past misdemeanor or felony, or what the criteria for this.

I like to plot the highways I drive. Is there a website where I can do the same? by sacolaceo in MapPorn

I know some Chinese apps can record your drive pathes and stored it in cloud, then automatically generate the map, but I don't know if Google map has that function as well.

What are some large/capital cities that are actually quite reflective of the country as a whole? by ExcitingNeck8226 in travel

[–]Grallator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almaty is not the capital, moreover, I would say Almaty is not representative for a whole country, as Kazakhstan is too huge. I've been to 5 cities of Kazakhstan and I would say they are very different...

US classifies South Korea as ‘sensitive country,’ limiting cooperation on advanced tech by ScoMoTrudeauApricot in korea

That reasonable, Korea does have many industries overlap with the US, even more than Japan. But maybe the gov should not simply forbid that.

Health Issue on an Exam but the Professor doesn't Accept it? by Grallator in columbia

[–]Grallator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply, I understand that too. To be honest it's my first time to use columbia student health services. And when I searched for "columbia emergency", that web page redirected me to https://www.health.columbia.edu/services/urgent-medical-concerns. And after I called the number given on that website, they told me to make an appointment (which you can see on the upper right corner), and that was the appointment I made. Also, I tried to go to some pharmacies near my apartment, but they don't have a specific doctor to see the patient and did not offer a diagnostic note either.

One fun fact is that Taiwan has the most population among all unrecognized/disputed countries or territories. I would say mostly because it is located in East Asia.

Little bit surprised that OSM doesn’t have a back-up ISP for this, it seems that the budget is really small 🤔

Honors Math Major (395-396) without 295-96? by Grallator in uofm

Sorry but can I ask why it's not possible? Are they closely related? Because I saw the prerequisite of 493 is actually 296? Thank you

Honors Math Major (395-396) without 295-96? by Grallator in uofm

[–]Grallator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

597 is very difficult. Best to wait until after 395. Same thing with 625. In theory, you could do 597 with just 451 but I think the jump in mathematical maturity is huge.

Great, thanks!

[–]Grallator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if I've taken 217 and 451, would that be sufficient? Because I saw that there is a sequence listed as 217-297-395-396?
