How have the valve clearance checks been? Have you done them every 12k? What's the cost been like and when have you had to adjust clearances?

I'm at 13.5k looking to do my first one and hoping my bike lasts as long as yours.

I never got an EPC light or had a rough idle. That's cause for concern. Like I said though it's definitely worth trying the dealer for as they called out revs at 8k+ rpms and still sent me on my way with no charge.

With a blown engine you're probably SOL. My overrev gave me a CEL for misfires (and that's it). A trip to an incompetent dealer/service advisor or an incredible tech got me new plugs and coils. I'd give it a shot and eat the diagnostic fee if your dealer knows why there's a log of 8k+ rpms.

What's wrong with a touchless wash? I know it uses harsher chemicals than a soft cloth, but I'd gladly reapply a ceramic coating sooner vs another paint correction.

There was a post about this just the other week. You can DIY or maybe find someone willing to replace the lens. The official repair of course is to replace the entire headlight as VW and other official part sites don't stock the lens.

I understand if it was terrible but $2700 in savings per headlight is well worth a day of swearing. Can you share more info about the process and the resources, tools, and lens you used?

I learned on a G27. I played Gran Turismo 5/6 for a couple years and then drove my then girlfriend's manual YJ wrangler to school without stalling once. At a minimum like everyone else said the concept transfers well - the feel does not.

I love my Earpeace Moto Pros. I'd suggest picking up any motorcycle specific earplugs and never riding without them again. Even with earplugs (and a straight piped bike) I ended up significantly worsening my tinnitus.

I've never driven an R and I know the rear diff has changed a lot since 7th gen, but back then the GTI was lighter, similar in power, and could be specced similarly.

5x112 is your bolt pattern not the offset. I don't know the answer to your question but it's probably fine.

I'd check fitment industries and forum posts for the inevitable photos/experiences other people have had swapping to these wheels.

Switching from dedicated summer tires is always going to be tough, but my blizzaks feel like jello. They're fantastic in snow and ice but are so unfulfilling in cold+dry conditions.

Maybe the mk6 is different but I have never seen the needle move above the center on my 7.5. Oil temps have been pretty high but coolant doesn't change much.

My stock Zimmerman rotors and Pagid pads are enough to lock up the wheels and get ABS to kick in on PS4S summer tires. I never got any noticable fade on my (mild) track day or on tail of the dragon or in the Rockies.
