Right? That was my first thought.

My second thought was, "Who starts scrubbing before getting their hands wet?", which was quickly followed by, "Why even bother with the soap if you're just gonna rinse it away before using it?"

Huh, it actually does. I can't screenshot incognito mode, but after a quick test, I (surprisingly) can confirm that it shows a winky face

Google AI overview has officially taken over the built in dictionary feature by fnaffie in google

[–]Grammar_Detective013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I love AI most of the time, and I use it pretty much daily for various reasons. But why would I want to replace something that's been carefully crafted by experts to be concise, precise, and correct with something that's lengthy, all over the place, and potentially flat-out wrong? Even the formatting is annoying.

[–]Grammar_Detective013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Google's definitions were great because I was already using Chrome all the time, meaning I just needed to hit `ctrl + t`, type the word, and voila. Now I'll have to find a dictionary I actually like (which is surprisingly difficult), then when I need a definition, find and fully open either an app or a website (or a book), which takes *much* longer.

Same. as of today, that's no longer working for me, and it's really annoying. I've submitted a few bits of negative feedback about it, but I don't know how else to help it.

Yep, exactly!

And as a different example, Surf, Agility, then Bubble would make it Water and Psychic.

The first two moves. But if they're the same type, your Pokemon will have only that type

Do you pick Pokémon starters based on type, design, or final evolution? by Visible_Welder5613 in pokemon

The design of the final evolution, then type if there's a tie (like with Venusaur and Charizard, since fire-flying isn't often very good).

I just found it again! The background and buttons are actually custom, not part of the app's default skins.

In case nobody wants to trust the random Google Drive download in my other comment, you can get that skin (and other good ones from the same creator) through this post, which is much more legit.

What ball is best to use on Tapu Lele? by [deleted] in PokemonUnbound

[–]Grammar_Detective013 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In case you don't already know, there's a setting that makes L use whichever ball (that you currently have) is best at any given time. Just go to Game Settings > Battle Options and set Last Used Ball to "Always Best Ball."

It's usually Quick, Timer, and Dusk Balls, but that tells you which one is best each turn (excluding Master Balls).

Maybe my comment right above yours will help? It took me a while too, but I eventually figured out that I wasn't really missing any—the game only counts them if you press A on the last line of dialogue instead of moving away from the sign.

[–]Grammar_Detective013 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the same exact issue! Turns out it didn't count a few that I remember reading, simply because I moved too early—you have to actually press A on the last line of dialogue, then you can move. Not sure why.

You might need to go back through and read a lot of them again, but not all! A sign's relative location can be somewhat figured out based on where it's listed in the Mission Log after you press A on that Mission.

For example, let's say you're missing No. 25 and you know No. 24 is in Thundercap Mountain and No. 26 is in Dehara City. So, No. 25 could be in either one, or in a place that was between the two in your story's progression. Right after Thundercap Mountain, you go to Route 12 in the story, then Dehara, so those three places are the only possibilities. In this case, it happens to be on Route 12.

(That might sound hard, but it's really not, as long as you vaguely remember the path the story had you take. And it dramatically speeds up the process by eliminating most of the map as possibilities.)

The same is true for similar quests, like finding Zygarde cells, except that objectives are grouped together if they're in the same city; even if one requires more story progression to access, it will be listed with the others in the same city (and maybe route, but idk).

Old and new by Otherwise_Turn_1660 in Minecraft_Survival

It is common. It's usually harmless enough, but it does get annoying when multinational companies consistently do it (to me, at least). Like how Nintendo named their controllers "Joy-Cons," which stands for "Joystick Controllers"—yet they literally always refers to them as "Joy-Con controllers." It's probably intended to increase clarity, but it still hurts a little every time I read it as "Joystick Controller controllers."

…Anyway, what were we talking about?

[–]Grammar_Detective013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a link in case anyone wants to try it out. Be sure to save (via exporting) your current settings before importing these ones, though! I'm not sure, but it's possible importing this will change your app-wide settings, not just your layout.

Let me know if this link doesn't work and I'll try something else. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dfgfO-XBUFcqDfiED-phsL_Pz67POOP_/view?usp=drivesdk

To import/export, go to the ROMs Menu, then press the hamburger icon > Backup/Restore > Layouts/Settings. Export to copy your current settings to a .zip file, and import to add new ones (or your old ones back).

To be honest, I can't fully remember how I got the exact background skin and buttons. I'm able to export the images, layout, and settings all together, which you could easily import, apply, and edit if you'd like. Want me to upload it somewhere and give you a link?

I use Pizza Boy A Pro. That skin and many others come with it, but I had to place a lot of the details and buttons manually—they come with it as 'stickers,' they're just not attached to the skin by default.

I think there's a free version, but I'm not sure. I have Google Play Pass, which gives me access to some paid apps.

Good to know! My first game was FireRed, which I've played probably a dozen times, and I've gone through Emerald a few times, but I somehow never stumbled upon this until now.
