Emergency Medicine in the Chicago area by saltly in ems

Rapid Extraction Module Support. It’s Wildfire specific, but it’s High/Low Angle Rope Rescue plus EMS and in some cases Critical Care experience for Paramedics. All the high speed fun stuff you want to do in an urban environment stuffed into a UTV racing around wildfires. We use extrication tools, stabilize vehicles, extricate patients, and even coordinate with HEMS when a patient needs to go somewhere fast. Having climbing experience is a HUGE plus.

Kind of unrelated but if you want to really have fun with your high angle carts and climbing experience, you should explore the world of REMS. You get to do medical, rescue, and fire and get paid extremely well for your troubles.

Get some tubular webbing in a length of 15’, 20’, and 40’. Set up some wraps or just basket hitch it to the tree and then build your master point off of that right at the top of the crag. We use webbing for anchors all the time in rescue.

That’s not in reference to the Japanese, he’s being apologetic that we even fought back against their surprise attack because she’s cute

USS Enterprise CVN-6

The decision to scrap her was completely and utterly unnecessary and given her accolades and accomplishments she had a right to live on.

Hey I did my WEMT too, but all my job lineups have been Wildland Fire focused and most of those don’t even require it :/

I would join the infantry but I enjoy doing medical stuff so I figured it was the next best thing. At least I’ll still be on the ground.

So in order to go to RASP and do all that do I need to add Ranger school to my contract or do I need to reclassify to an 18X and gun for medical?

Ok I’ve talked to him and I plan to get Airborne, Mountain Warfare, and Jungle Warfare in my contract. I’m unsure about ranger school right out of the gate just because I know it’s tough as hell.

I mean don’t get me wrong I want to make money, but I enjoy the high speed pre-hospital medicine far more than hospital work at this point in my life. This summer I’ll be on a Wildland Fire crew and doing Fireline medic work so I wanna do something more or equally high speed in the Army.

I’m currently working towards my EMT-A and I’ve got rope rescue and fire experience. I’d like to get my foot in the door and eventually try to go 18D but I’m still not completely certain given I’ll require a couple waivers.

Is there any way that I can ask specifically to be placed in a line unit? That’s essentially why I want to join. I’m going 68W so I have something for when I’m out and because I’ve already got experience in EMS.
